me_in_japan wrote:reading through the rules on page 34 (the optional-but-still-official ones) I think banning wizards would be good. I always hated them, and although I've used them myself, they basically cost 150,000 for the ability to cancel out an opponent's touchdown. This is poop.

I'm also not a fan of star players (believe it or not), but much as I disaprove of them (and moreover find them pointless) i dont think they need to be banned.

Special play cards should be optional. If both players want to use em, then fine. Otherwise, no.

Other than that, standard rules should apply.
I haven't played with the special play cards yet, but they seem like a good way to even up matchups. Even wizards, while powerful, can still be played around.

LRB 4 had just an AWFUL handicap system, which was one of the things they tried to fix in LRB5. I'd to go with it as is for now, and then review it after the season.

D*** this thread -- it got me so worked up to play Blood Bowl that I dug out the PSP game again.

Mistake. The AI's so poor it hurts. I realize it's a complex game which must be difficult to program AI for, but seriously?! They could just pick up the ball and blitz straight ahead every turn and it'd be a huge improvement.

Howl if you feel my pain

Is that part of the reason you tried to unload the game on me? :D

Does anyone want to set up a BB rally? Maybe we should begin discussing when this league should kickoff? I'm in support of a preseason to get new guys like me ready, but I am okay with jumping straight in too.

Sneaky, right?
Nah, I just figured it'd get you used to the rules, give you a chance to try out a few different teams, and allow you to see the skills in action.
And it'd build confidence since it's effectively impossible to lose :?

I assumed this Friday at Mondo. Or is that mainly just an intro to the game for the rookies?
I could play on Dec. 9.
