In which Badruck rants about Tournaments

Post by Admiral-Badruck » Thu Jan 20, 2011 3:16 pm

What Tournaments there have been hardly any tournaments style games in the last 2 years I can only think of 2 one that was over the Bon holiday... and The World Wide War.

really we need to stop talking about tournaments there just are not enough to even talk about them... once there are 4 or 5 a year then we can talk tournaments..

as for the Eldar Models they look good the tank even looks good... an I have never been a fan of Eldar tanks they look ok but this one looks good.

Do'h! I knew we forgot to invite someone to the last 3 events.

Seriously Badruck, YOU ran two tournaments. And M_i_J did bring his hawks along to the 1500 point event and played against my IG. Then he got tabled. :D You see, Hawks are truly useless!

Whilst I would be happy if the community was big enough to sustain that, I would have no interest playing in that many tournaments in a year. 1 a year seems like a fine number for me.

the 15000 tournament that you speak of was 3 years ago buy the time Nagoya hammer is run again... I said in the last 2 years.

I really do not see what the big deal is tournaments get people to come out and play they get people to paint their stuff the get people to build great terrain we really should have like 3 a year at the very least...

as Far as Hawks not being worth the points... tell that to a nid player with assault nids or a daemon player... Hawks can really hurt armies that do not shoot much.... I surely would not base a units worth by how it fights IG. IG are very hard to deal with. they have come of the best mid range fire power in the game and they have the best long range fire power in the game... that takes care of most any thing...

I think tournaments are great. I'd really like to see more, but of course there are countless factors to consider regarding them. What gaming system for instance? I'd like to see more fantasy battle tournaments, but thats because I like it the best. Others, doubtless will favor 40k more.
