Forge World Eldar
Forge World Eldar
FW have just updated their Eldar range with 2 new entries.
For the crazy/rich kids out there we have a Power Glaive arm for the Phantom Titan.

For the slightly less crazy/rich kids the Shadow Spectre Phoenix Lord is now available.

And his rules:

To be honest, I am not sure how the 'heavy 3' thing works on his weapon when used with the Ghostlight rule. (see ghostlight here: http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Downloads/P ... ectres.pdf)

Re: Forge World Eldar
Ah, forge world. How I love thee and thy incomprehensible rules
still, you do nice models, so I'll let you away with it
For what it's worth, I'd say single shot ghost light, or 3 regular shots if they don't combine fire.

Re: Forge World Eldar
I would have thought the line "Instead of firing their prism rifles (or prism lance) individually the
squad may take a single Ghostlight shot, as follows." is fairly clear. The Ghostlight has a totally separate stat line from the other Prism weapons in the Shadow Spectres rules. The fact that the Phoenix apparently has a Prism Blaster rather than a Rifle or Lance does muddle things - I suspect that's an error.

Re: Forge World Eldar
so what y'all are saying is that you agree with me, yes?
If they fire using their ghostlight, its a single shot for the squad, including Plord. (His rules clearly say his Spear of Starlight can be fired as part of the ghostlight, so whether it's a prism blaster, prism lance, or prism BB gun doesnt really matter.) If they dont fire their ghostlight, they fire their guns individually as normal, which in the case of Plord is 3 shots, desho?
*sigh* to give specific examples, just to ward off any future verbal fisticuffs (cos I do have shadow spectres and am going to get the Plord.)
5 spectres (no lord)
individual fire: 5 shots, BS4, range 12", S6, AP2. simple.
Ghostlight: 1 shot, BS4, nominate firer, range 60"(=12+12+12+12+12), S10 (=6+1+1+1+1) , AP2.
5 spectres, plus lord (6 models)
individual fire: 5 shots, BS4, range 12", S6, AP2. PLUS 3 shots, BS7, range 24", S7, AP2.
Ghostlight using Plord as nominated firer: 1 shot, BS4, range 72" (=12+12+12+12+12+12), S10 (=7+1+1+1+1+1, max 10), AP2
Ghostlight using spectre as firer: 1 shot, BS4, range 72"(=12+12+12+12+12+12), S10 (=6+1+1+1+1+1, max 10), AP2.
Any disagreements?
ps at the bottom of the ghostlight rules it says "an exarch may elect to fire separately or join the squad's shot"
2 questions:
1) Does Plord count as an exarch for the purpose of this line? (I'd say yes.)
2) does fire separately mean "separate shots at the same target" or "at a different target to the rest of the squad"? (I'd say "at the same target.")

Re: Forge World Eldar
Sounds about right to me. Bear in mind that both rules documents are playtest docs. If you reckon it's unclear, email them and say so.

2 - Unless it has a very specific rule in the same style as Space Wolf Long Fangs or Necron Arks, No, you cannot fire at a different target.
Once again, AGP is the cool, clear voice of reason on these threads. This is probably a good idea overall as clear rules will avoid any quibbling or niggling later on.AndrewGPaul wrote:Sounds about right to me. Bear in mind that both rules documents are playtest docs. True, that. I might mail em, actually. Can't do any harm, I suppose.
