Abaddon's not a Primarch. Clearly it is a FW mini of a space marine diorama, and it could be abaddon (certainly has his hair) but it seems odd to do a diorama of a standard marine captain. Are thy going to do Tarvitz? Loken? Garro? If they start down that road they'll be at it all day...

*edit* just checked some other clips. Defo abaddon. Bit concerned theres going to be a huge flood of big-based display models of every character from the Horus heresy...

He's not really a standard captain though, is he. He is captain of the first company in the chapter of the bloke who threw the Imperium (and the galaxy) into disarray and civil war. He was also the right hand of Horus.

True, true, but in terms of characters developed that exist in the 30k setting he's a bit of a small potato. The 3 I mentioned get way more coverage than him, and frankly did more important stuff. On the plus side, that marine fighting abaddon is Loken, so that's one down :D

Yabba-dabba-don, Loken and Tarvitz all have rules in the HH book, so probably they will all get models. Garro doesn't have rules in the book (probably because his input into Istvaan 3 was limited to commanding a ship). Speculative rumours say that he will probably be covered later as part of some other book as he has a lot more involvment later on.

I can't help but feel that all this 30k stuff is a monumental waste of effort. Surely their time would be better used developing a new race, or, god forbid, actually moving the 40k timeline along? Correct me if I'm wrong, but they now have a full subsection of the FW design team working full time on a series of books that will be essentially a highly compresssed summary of the series of novels that we already have, and some stats for characters that already have a detailed and complete life history? Where's the scope for creativity in there? (for players and for the writing team at FW.) I appreciate that sculpts of primarchs would sell, but why not just, yknow, sell sculpts of primarchs? Do they need a whole team writing rulebook for em? Where ate the hrud army lists? Rules for admech? Demiurg? Even a new, FW unique race that use honking great tanks and have big gribbly monsters in the same army.

All this 30k is just more marines in a different colour. Still just T4 3+sv models in power armour when you get down to it.

If you aren't interested in it, dont buy it or play it. It takes nothing away from you and adds something that other people may enjoy. It looks like FW have a bigger team than they used to and they aren't going to stop releasing IA books, so where is the harm? Yes, they could do other stuff, but they are going to try and do things which make money first and foremost. A Hrud armybook may sell a little, but the HH books will probably sell more. If they can keep up a good rate of income from selling marines, they will have more money to invest in niche projects. Just remember, those Eldar Corsairs of yours were probably bankrolled to a large extent by sales of Imperial tanks. :D

Oh, and some Admech are included in the book with more planned in the future.

I'm surprised it's taken them this long to get around to it actually. Half the drama (centered on the arch-drama queens, the Space Marine Primarchs) of the 40K universe takes place during the Horus Heresy. You know the beakyfanboys will eat it up.
A Hrud armybook, would not "may" sell a little. It would "definitely" sell a little. The only thing that would sell less would be a Squat codex.

I kind of agree with MIJ, but then again this a good project for FW. I`m just happy GW aren`t trying to push 30K as a new "main game". I would still prefer only models and not rules.
