£1200 is only £100 a month put aside for a year. That's not difficult, were I to want one. :)

@AGP, Regarding the 100 quid a month equivalent, that's a fair point. I got back into gaming in 2008..I recently totalled up what I've spent on gaming related stuff since then. It was a bit sobering. Let's just say it would allow me to buy more than one or two of these FW monstrosities, so I suppose I'm Mr Kettle in his glass house, talking to Mr Pot through a smashed window, eh.

100 quid a month for a year may not be difficult for you, but it's nigh on impossible for me. Also, while ive certainly spent over a thousand quid on minis since I started playing again about ten years ago, it's been spread over a decade. I mean, taken over a lifetime of spending most of us could accumulate enough cash to buy a Ferrari or summat. Doesn't mean they're not ludicrously expensive.

eh, y'know. Stuff, and things

Wow. And then Corona happened. Just....crickets, all the way through to 2023...

No way I could afford 100 quid a month *these* days. But when I was living here rent free without a child and mortgage to support, I used maelstrom and wayland quite a bit. The unpainted stuff I have will see me through to the grave I should think.

I thought about the cash spent on hobby stuff, spread out over those 7 years or whatever, and although it really adds up I can't say I regret it. I could have spent it on something equally daft to outsiders, like golf membership and equipment, or guitars or whatever. Something practical like a not that terrific used car maybe. Or just thrown into into the black hole of mortgage repayment. Glad I spent it happily on fun toys to be honest.

1200 on one toy though, I don't think so. Lots of toys, yes.

Man, are we getting old or what? "Look at all that money! What a waste! Don't people have better things to spend their money on? What the heck GW, you only satisfied if we shovel over 1000s of bucks at a time?" If I were still a wet-behind-the-ears geek I'd be just ..."oh....man.....Warlord....Titan.....omgomgomg....." and figuring out how to get a hold of one.
I mean just think of how many geeks have been dreaming of an actual 40K scale Warlord Titan, just for the sheer over the top majesty of the thing. It's the Mt. Everest of miniatures. I am not planning on getting a Titan any more than climbing Mt. Everest, but it sure is pretty to look at and will be pretty amazing to see some pics of one painted up and stomping on things.
...and now his Head was full of nothing but Inchantments, Quarrels, Battles, Challenges, Wounds, Complaints, Amours, and abundance of Stuff and Impossibilities.....

You obviously have a lot more willpower than I. My monthly hobby budget is usually spent by the afternoon of the 1st day of the month. :D
I guess the price tag isn't such an insurmountable obstacle if you are careful about it.

I will still be passing on getting one of these though. Regardless of how carefully I saved, there's no hiding something that big from my wife and I am not ready for a divorce just yet.

Having seen a Tau Manta in person, this is only 25% more ridiculous. Methinks the lady objects too much.

As far as price is concerned it still cost less than a down hill mountain bike...and less than most high end road bikes. But still more than some used cars. :?

I just don't see the point for one in the game. If you really want to play with Titans play epic.
