Having your flagship product be out of date a week before it launches because you didn't proofread/playtest everything beforehand is excusable if you are a small team working for a tiny company. Less so if you are the global juggernaut that dominates your industry. Sadly it's about par for the course these days with even multi-billion dollar software firms relying on consumers to de-bug their programs.
I work for a multi billion dollar software company so I'm already primed to assume a large % of the things that shouldn't go wrong will go wrong, and be pleasantly surprised when only a small to moderate % actually does

I'm torn between thinking they shouldn't have printed card packs for indexes given the inevitable need for errata and thinking it's worth it anyway because it will just be so much better a play experience than scrolling on your mobile or waiting for Battlescribe to update.

I'm planning on printing and laminating the cards, as I need them. Like, just a few at a time as I use them for games. I just discovered I'm out of ink, though, so it's gonna be digital for me on Sunday, unfortunately. (the lovely lovely laser printers at the schools I work at keep looking at me, smiling and winking. But I shall stay strong! I don't think any of my school principals would be especially understanding of me printing off the legions of nurgle on government machinery...)

Have yet to find a card stock firm enough for my discerning tastes. But these will have to do for now!

Does anyone know a brand of cardstock to recommend for printing on? I'm looking for something with the firmness of a regular playing card.

I've tried looking on amazon but they all look like what I'm currently using.

You might get away with just using sleeves - the sleeves I used to use for Warcry ability cards (which look the same size) from Daiso were sturdy enough you probably didn't actually need card in them. That being said I had half a dozen of those, not 100.

Are you just using the pdf as-is or did you reformat/find a friendlier one somewhere?

Thanks jus! I'll print some of my own tomorrow. Not sure whether to edit a pdf to just what I plan to use or go the whole thing - it's a consequential decision for Marines

Re Xenos indexes: Necrons and Aeldari have a lot to be happy about. Ynnari seem super straight forward now so I'm contemplating getting Yvraine and maybe giving them a go since I have the Drukhari anyway!

I'm semi-embarrassed to report that (what with the changes to DG durability and the fact I can fit 12 dudes in a rhino now) I'm seriously considering getting a box of plague marines so I can bulk out my combat squad, and maybe a box of terminators to make a full squad of blightlords, and maybe a daemon prince so I can get that juicy feel no pain aura...

As printer ink is really expensive, I copy pasted the data for my army's index cards (the ones I want) into a text document and managed to get everything I need onto a couple of sides of A4.

I was thinking of doing something similar - TBH I've found that the process of typing rules data into a text file or excel sheet makes sure I look at everything carefully at least once, which is good for getting the rules in my head. (Plus the datasheets, for all their usability, have an awful lot of blank space on them.)

And coloured backrounds with full colour art.

Plus they'll be out of date in a few days/a few days ago, so text files are easier to edit.
