I said dat already...
But I said it slightly differently and whilst you mentioned synergy I mentioned causing break tests. But yeah, same thing I guess.

If it looks like you are going to lose, kick the legs out from under the table and then reposition the models in a better place when you get everything sorted out..... Just kidding, no-one should do that!

If it looks like you are going to lose, dont give up. Keep trying and do your best to win on objectives etc etc. Several examples spring to mind. I have forced draws against Mij's space elves by holding/contesting objectives even though he has destroyed my army. I have won games with just two models (both scoring) on the table and I have lost games I thought I had due to a last second tank shock and the luckiest chaos marine running through my sights for 3 turns grabbing the objective. Positive Mental Attitude is a key. Giving up mentally and griping about the game/the opponent's army/bad dice rolls wont help you win.

several times. oh how i hate those games...

but as stu says, he did get draws, both due to his keeping his eye on the objective and me not doing so. i have a bad habit to go for a tabling when I should be looking to secure objectives. As I result, i had a spate of draws. Perpetually ending the game on turn 5 didnt help, but still - lack of focusing on objectives cost me the wins.

M-I_J hit a point playing the turns I normally play until turn 5 and if it goes past that I normally get beat M-I-J and Tau John play for turn 6 or sometimes even turn 7 it seems... I think if you really want to win you need to be ready for the game to end on turn five or carry on to turn seven...

I still think that list stacking is a good way to win in tournaments...

It depends what you stack your lists with. So how about giving some suggestions or more info about how you would do it?

As for the random game length, you need to be in position to win on turn 5 and able to hold till turn 7. This means turn 4 should be spent setting up for objective grabbing, or weakening squads for kill pointing. Unless you have agreed a turn limit, you cannot play for any particular turn as you aren't guaranteed to get it. The only guarantee is you wont get a turn 8. As the Admiral says, "be ready for the game to end on turn five." Words to live by.

I wouldnt say that i deliberately play for turn 6, I just kept finding myself in a position where if there had been one more turn, Id have tabled my opponent. But there wasnt, so it was a draw cos of things like my unit of avengers being pulled off an objective by the forced pile-in, or my plasma guns' complete inability to kill that last thrice-accursed space marine, and so on and so forth. Its my own fault for focusing on the tabling, rather than the objectives.

My example of list stacking is the 180 ork boyz list for example all my troop choices filled and all the other points put on Storm Boyz or Komandoz or Lootaz whatever I am feeling like on the day... these bad boyz would rock... shifting one 30 bodied boyz mob in cover would be very hard to do let alone 6 of them I could keep objective with half of my boyz and use the other Elite units to rout/kill off the enemy.. are there ways to beat this yes but it is a shade harder if you have an amy built for all armies rather than just the horde... stacked list full of cheese but I think it would rock...

At 1500 points you're not going to get very much apart from 180 boyz. They come to over 1000 without any upgrades like Nobz, Powerklawz or Big Shootas.
Its a list I would like to play against though. It would be challenging.

A disappearing flank is what happens when an Eldar army gets charged in the flank by ork boyz I believe.
