Here are my observations from the intial games i played:

Sixth ed heralds the return of the tactical squad i think. The bolter, used en mass in a forward advance, is a force to be reckoned with.
Heroic intervention is..now not quite as heroic if one veteran gets offed with a lucky overwatch.

Yeah..power axes arent that great but I'm not ripping the arms of my sanguinary guard though. They are power swords, i dont care what anyone says. WYSIWYG...bloody hell, could have told me fore i posed all them models. Idiots.

KIll the marker lights first! Should have known.

Hmm scout squads with bolters? Hmmm would that be a good idea?

Power axes do let you kill terminators though, so they might not be a bad thing to have.
Chaplains got hosed though.

Crozius now count as Power Mauls. S+2, but AP4. So they bounce off power armour.

Which is great if you are fighting Tau, Eldar or IG and they dont have a 3+ save. It would be nice if the Crozius was an option, but as it is, there is little reason to take one if you know you are facing MEQs.

Meaning you have to put a little thought into what units you choose based on what army your opponent is using? Oh, gawd save all you poor li'l marine players! Oh, wailywailywaily! Woe is me, for now I must list-build!

If you chaps need any help, just ask an eldar player. I'm sure they'd be happy to advise :D

So instead of a take all comers list, I instead power-build my lists to face specific opponents, so I will curb stomp anyone who hasn't done the same. Also, dang near impossible to do at a tournament like NagoyaHammer.

Yeah, that bites.

Not at all - you still build a take all comers list, you just have to think about it first, now :)

Seriously, this is exactly what us pointy ears players* have had to do for donkey's years. Every single one of our units is good against some stuff but blows against others. Its not about power building, its about building a list that can deal with its own weaknesses and has a bit of synergy.

Also, dang near impossible to do at a tournament like NagoyaHammer.
Oh yes indeedy. Welcome to the pain of the pointy ears :D

*well, the good pointy ears, anyway. The evil ones have less issues in this regard.

meh, I was just having a cackle. Don't mind me

I was an evil person and found a nice pdf to check the rules. Now I´m starting to crave a good game of 6th.
Somebody for a game around O-bon when I go to Nagoya?

M.
