Librarian+Sternguard+Locator Beacons on droppods is a good combo.Sergent Zhyr wrote:Many thanks to prime for his vast knowledge of the different marine armies.![]()
I normally play with two tactical squads in drop pods or in rhinos. I normally take stern guard terminators and an ironclad dreadnought. In a big game I will take a landraider redeemer and and land speeders or bikes.
I take a lord high commander (chapter master) or a chaplain for HQ
after reading the comments I guess the librarian is a very good choice. seems like he was made go with stern guard.
Use the drop pods for the Ironclad and maybe the sternguard. Tactical marines dont cause enough damage when they arrive to be worth putting in one.
Put the tactical squads into a rhino and use it as a mobile bunker. On turn 1 move it to where you have a good line of sight, and from turn 2 fire your heavy weapon and/or special weapon from the fire point on top. Keeping the tactical squad in a rhino makes them immune to most rapid fire weapons.
If you use a land raider, after it's passengers disembark, try to put a small squad of troops inside. (for example if your tactical squad takes lots of casualties and you only have a couple of marines left). Then move the land raider onto an objective. This will help keep your scoring unit alive a lot longer.
