For the discussion of anything related to Warhammer 40,000

Do you want to play an Apocalypse game where each player has a single SuperHeavy with an 800pt cap?

Doesn't bother me but if we use them, everyone gets them.

I would rather see what everyone says before saying yay or nay.

Fair point mate.

OK, no asset cards.

It might be a good idea to make this one a superheavy only game. It will make it faster, simpler, and more practical.

What say you all to the idea of one superheavy per person? Or is it a dumb idea?

not all superheavies are made equal.

Badruck has a fair point when he says the eldar titan is dead killy. It can fire 4 SD shots per turn. Theyll probably hit. They penetrate automatically. Chances are that thing is gonna wax one opponent per turn. Folks who dont have a plethora of SD weapons have to do stuff like roll dice to penetrate armour. A Skullhamma is quite dangerous, but its a multi-purpose tank. it can kill lots of different things. Pulsars kill superheavies. Really dead, really fast.

This is assuming that you dont shout at the eldar titan and call him names first. If you do that, he just crumbles away to nothing...

Well if you bring him, guess who everyone will try to target first ;)

It really isn't important if all SuperHeavies are balanced as thats not the point. The point is to bring whichever Superheavy (or unit, depending on what we decide) you happen to like and have at it.

I vote Supes only.
No assets either (Replacements anyone?)

@M_i_J: Sure, an Eldar Titan will probably vape anyone it hits but that's assuming a lot of things go your way before it even shoots, not least of all Spev's idea of having Random turns. If you get Turn 1 you'll probably get to waste someone else's supe, but if you get Turn six you might be packing your lovely toy away before you even get a turn in.

@The Madmiral: The Chapter Masters look good on Paper but in reality they are severely hampered by that whole 'fight as a single unit' thingy, just ask Prime. They don't like Slaanesh terminators either  Then there is the whole one pie plate = goodbye squad.

Limiting things to one superheavy is fine, but a points cap would also be good since I know one player who could bring along a Great Gargant with a bajillion structure points and a tonne of shields.
750 points should be enough for most people I think. (not sure how much that Eldar Titan costs though).

OK, here is what I propose;

- 1 Super Heavy per player
- Points limit at 800 (the cost of an Eldar Titan)
- Randomised turns (decided by drawing cards)

And as for a kitted out Gargant, yep they can go over 1000pts without much trouble.
