That's the question, really. Are we playing 40k because we get something from it, or are we playing it because we've got too much already sunk into it. If the latter is true, surely we need to reassess our priorities?

Both.

I spent time and money but also I enjoy the odd game every month or so.
With 5th, yes, I get a lot from it. As I have yet to try 6th or even read the full rule set, I can't comment yet. I am not going to dismiss the game before I have seen the benefits and drawbacks of doing so.

Looks like I missed a lot of the hubbub I am all for the new game looks like fun and after all is said and done I do not play for domination of my opponent (unless it is spevna and only becaus he likes it that way). Truth be told. The old game was getting a bit stale like corn Chips left on the shelf for a few too many days.

I agree a new set of rules is a great way to mix things up, the new flyers etc are cool too. I just can't justify trying to keep up with everything. It comes down to time and money. Plus the minis do look cool, but the universe is a bit stale for me. It certainly has a rich story, but 15 years of it is enough for me.

I also find the number of minis required, the way things go splat! suddenly and predictably didn't lend itself to close battles. Although my game against Prim at NagoyaHammer was one for the ages.

Assuming the 6th ed will be available in Japanese, what's the best way for someone in the U.S. to get a copy of the book or the starter set?

Thanks,
Paul

At 40% off? Do you want the rulebook in Japanese?

If you're ordering it from the States, any Games Workshop store or dealer should be able to get you the version with the Japanese rules.

This would be for my son, who primarily reads in Japanese, so the rulebook is the big part. Figured at 40% off, might be worth it to have them ship the starter set to me so then he also gets the beginners guide and whatever other printed material they include, in Japanese.
