@M_i_J - In the UK and EU, yes. In the states, perhaps not, but then shipping from the states is usually silly money. Or maybe Amazon just dont care about such a tiny company and aren't going to change their business model for them. I dunno.

@Ashmie - How much did that set you back then? Was it cheaper than ordering from Ikeda san? The book is very nice and is of such a size that you can probably use it as a coffee table.

It's not always silly money for shipping from the US. It was cheaper for me to get my black crusade book from amazon US than from Amazon JP.

Postage was about 30 dollars. It was about 70 quid all in. It's probably the same as getting it from Ikeda once I've added the train fee to Nagoya and the coffee and lunch. I just had to have it after all the new stuff I've been hearing I'm psyched to play it. And I want to read all the history the book contains too. I might read the first Rogue Trader rulebook before it arrives.
Are Amazon allowed to do that? Well I won't tell if you don't and as Mike says who is going to take on the mighty amazon. You can buy models too from amazon US from what I can gather. Anyway it's shipped now. The only thing that might happen which would be nasty is if they were models I might be charged import tax on toys from abroad. It's a book though so should be fine.

Obviously a bit late for Ashmie, but Ikeda was only charging 500 yen to post the book anywhere within Japan. With the discount and postage, it still worked out as under 7000 yen.

No one is under any obligation to buy from him, but it would be nice if we could support our FLGS as much as possible. He only stocks GW products now, but he does his best to discount them, plus he supported NagoyaHammer very generously this year. If people could see there way to asking him before placing orders, he may well be able to start stocking Warlord as well. :D

I'm reading through the background section of the rulebook now, and I must say, it is very good. There is a a gravitas to the writing here that really captures the scope and grandeur of the 40k universe. An eloquence that is so noticeably absent from any of the pathetic attempts warmachine tries at fluff ( Granted privateer press is aiming at different literary style, but ugh, its so bad, they really ought to take a lesson on fluff writing from GW )

I'm hoping to come across some plot elements that will further the 40k storyline, and maybe shed some light on why Tau is being baby sit by the space marines. One things for certain, the emperor is not quite dead yet, and will probably stay that way for another 6 editions.

@ash: Its going to be worth the wait ash, excellent read!

Too bad I didn't know about Ikeda Sans deal, I had no idea. I could have saved 3000 en it seems. Folks get on it if you can. Town Crier from here in.

Let us know if you find anything, but other folks on the interwebs have said that that was a lie made up by Beasts "best model EVAAAHH!!!" of War.

Given that Tau and Marines have fought alongside one another against other foes before, I can see why they can ally in the game, but I think it is more a case of both sides actually trusting one another rather than looking after each other. Of course, it all depends on which Chapter you are talking about. Given that Codex Space Marines is basically Codex Ultramarines, they can ally. Other marine chapters might be a bit less friendly. :D

Well...I`d love to comment on some rules, but I still haven`t gotten my rulebook! (Yes, I broke down and ordered one. I`m Leadership 10 & Stubborn at work; Ld 3 when looking at wargaming products on the Internet). I tried something different and tried to support our local Ikeda-san. I ordered it over two weeks ago but still haven`t received it. It`s not any faster than ordering it from overseas...possibly even a little slower.
