Another possibility (and I'm not saying we dont want you to move to Nagoya because it would be cool to have another player around) is to try some scenario based games. Particularly ones where the army lists are already set. Imperial Armour has a few for IG you can try, though in all fairness you need to have the right models to do it and it sounds like your opponents have the bare minimum to field what they use.
How do your other players feel about this situation? If they are in the same boat as you, just collectively refuse to play them until they see sense or you can find a job in Nagoya. :D

I think you should move to Gifu the rent is cheeper and un like most the guys in this little forum my better half likes the hobby and even plays necrons. You could swing by after work for a game and some grub. Of course I am the bigest power gamer in the area if we don't count prime and MIJ.

A little story.

One day a young power gamer, called Fallen-Arch,, was invited by his supposed friend, called Like-the bike, to come over for a couple of friendly games of 40K. The point of the games was so LtB could get in some practice with an unfamiliar army before a an event he had been invited to by the aforementioned Arch.

However instead of bringing anything remotely friendly, he brought Ragnar Blackmane and Njal Stormcaller. Poor LtB got the whipping of a life time and his pure, innocent heart was nearly torn in twixt with disappointment. However being a very mature and handsome individual he did not bare a grudge and completely forgot about the incident thereafter, never to be mentioned again.

:D :D :D
P.S. The above story is faced on actual events. The names have been changed to protect the innocent.

Would this be the same Fallen Arch and Like the Bike who went to Kyushu for a friendly local tournament? Didnt Like the Bike take a bag full of the stinkiest Gorgonzola he could find whilst Fallen Arch took along a happy-go-lucky bag of joy and fun?

And didn't Badruck have this
I do not see any cheese here
to say when Fallen Arch posted his Space Wolf list?

'Friendly tournament' is an oxymoron, like 'Sane Madmiral' or 'Unnecessary model purchase'.

I have no qualms about taking the army I did. Yes, it was hard but could easily have been harder. BTW Your army had too many sword masters to qualify as a bag of joy and/or fun (to qualify as such the number would have to be zero).

Especially so after getting my butt handed to me in 3 games out of 5 at an even 'friendlier' non-tournament event a few months before I decided to play them at their own game.

By the way, quoting the Madmiral on whether a list is cheesy or not is hardly a convincing argument.
