best way to use the vanguard would be with a target locator. Send a few drop pods down or use scouts and base your attack off of them (no scatter that way).

They're cheaper than vanilla vanguard and you want MORE special rules....

I just wanted them to be the same as the rest of the army it is like saying Wolf Guard don't get counter attack... Wolf Guard are cheap as chips you can take them as troops and you can put them in any unit... they get cheap power weapons and you can give them terminator armor... and they can take Combiweapons as well as Bolt Pistols and Close combat weapons... So yes I think they should get the special rules that the rest of the army can get,,, that way they would not be a useless unit.. As it stands they are crap and I am not happy about that a bit... :x

Actually Wolf Guard cant take combi weapons with bolt pistols and close combat weapons. The combi weapon replaces it.
Wolf Guard dont get bolt guns as standard compared to the other units in the dex.
Wolf Guard cannot be attached to sky-claws (blood claws with jump packs) but they can be attached to any other unit in the book. Does that make sky-claws awful?

Only Blood Angels units which come with Jump packs as standard have descent of angels. Vanguard ARE just the same as the rest of the army. Death Company, Honour Guard, Sanguinary Priests and Vanguard all have the option of Jump Packs but dont get DoA special rule.

If you're that set on using them, use the locator beacons, or just risk it.

 guess I had better re-read the Wolf Dex as well as the BA dex before I start griping about stuff. Still think this Dex is a bit of a downer but I was hopping for it to be like the Codex Space marines and unlock different special rules as I see fit...It is sure to be fun... I mean fast Vindicators should be enough for me but I am just being a bit of a Grot about it...

I am taking V-Guard and I am going to risk it... what the hell right...

People I was reading this post, and I realize that you have a different interpretation of "Descent of Angels rule". In Spain (and I think in all Europe, because blood angels players were using this interpretation of the rules in ETC 2010) all the units that are equipped with Jump Packs can use descent of angels rules. Key is the page 62, Jump Pack entry, "all the units equipped with jump pack gain descent of angels rule", basically if you pay the points for a jump pack your gain this rule.

Descent of Angels is automatically given to any model who is given a jump pack (check the entry for jump packs in the Blood Angels Armoury). As vanguard veterans and honour guard are not automatically given jump packs and must be purchased, they will receive descent of angels if you choose to purchase jump packs for them.
