The thin, eldar, resin arm that I now have to remove so I can stick the tassles on...

argh.

You chose to play the skinniest, weeiest looking army in 40K so you'll gte bugger all sympathy from me! 8-)

Check THIS out.

Rules can be foundhere.

Basically war walkers that can be taken as Troops. 15 points more than usual with exactly the same options. BS4 which means that they are going to hit even more and they can move 24" a turn and assault if they want to (no shooting that turn though), which means any S3 models not packing grenades/rending/power fists are going to get tied up in combat pretty quickly.
And all for only a few pounds more than standard walkers.
This gets a thumbs up from me.

tbh, altho the rules are nice, the model itself looks to be just a war walker with a taller cockpit and a coupla nozzles on the back. I'm not that excited by it, especially considering I already have 3 war walkers and dont need another squad for 75 quid. If they sell an upgrade kit I'd consider it, as it looks like you could easily stick the extra bits onto a normal walker chasse. (after assembly, I mean)

As for the "lots more Eldar releases to come over the next few months" - well, hum. [understatement] A bit excited, yes. [\understatement]

Not exactly. These are 25 quid each. A standard walker is 14.80 from wayland. Thats a substantial difference, considering they run in squads of 3 (and based off painful personal experience, 3 is the sweet spot)

Interesting point: the canopy on that walker is a canopy Ive never seen before. Its also in clear plastic, which suggests it is not exclusively for these walkers. New Eldar flyer canopy, perhaps?

another interesting point: this is the kind of thing that could easily find its way into the regular eldar codex, methinks. BS4 for walkers, please? pretty please? onegai?

I was comparing them to the standard GW price since FW isnt available at a discount, but yes, compared to Wayland its a big difference.

So long as you aren't playing a killpoint game, you could run these suckers individually. Put a Missile Launcher or two on it and have it run about shooting small blasts or S8 tank busters. Since it goes into Troops the loss of a slot isnt a major worry. It's BS 4 so it should be able to hit with at least 1 shot a turn and it always has the option of doing a flying kick to smash the face of any IG/Ork/Eldar/Dark Eldar/Tau etc unit not packing a power fist if it wants to. Plus, if there is only 1, opponents might not want to waste fire shooting it when they could shoot up a squadron of something else. Hmmmm. ;)

hum. I'll put em on my "will buy when I need something from FW to put an order over 250quid" list. Since that list currently consists of :

1 wasp

I can see it taking a while to fill up.

That said, if FW deliver on that "lots more Eldar releases" promise, it might fill up rather quicker than I would like.

Honestly, you spend years wishing they would bring out more stuff for the eldar, and then when they do, its all so nice that the compulsive collector gene kicks in and before you know it you need another box to carry stuff when you bring your army to Nagoya.

ho hum, mustnt grumble, I suppose :D

The Lynx 'light' Super Heavy Tank is up on FW's site
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/New_Stuff/E ... ULSAR.html
Rules can be found here.

Let me be the first to call cheese. 2 strength D shots on a fast skimmer with (effectively) a 4+ invulnerable save, a better save against having the main gun damaged AND all for a shade over 300 points. My Shadowswords are crying in the corner. And the model is cheaper as well.
Now I know how M_i_J felt when the Achilles was announced.

And the Shadow Spectres Exarch is also available.

cheeese!

nah, as long as its for apocalypse, its hard to call cheese on something. Both the Land Raider Bieber variant and the flying Imperial Shoebox are useable in regular 40k, and thats why I despise em. Apocalypse is in no way balanced anyway, so a coupla gorgonzola tanks wont make much difference, I reckon.

Lovely model, though, and ahahah, it can become a flyer. Nice :) (but in no way cheesy, aheheh :D)

speaking of which, Im unlikely to get it, as I dont play apoc enough to justify 3 unpainted super heavies sitting in my back room. Im keeping my eye on FWs new eldar mostly for 40k useable stuff. Im hoping theyll have a pirate cap'n model. Thatd be ace. Maybe even pirates to go with him?

interestingly, thats almost exactly the same colour i was gonna paint my shadow spectres (I even used it already on the wraithbone on my dark eldar bases, if you dont believe me...)

Not that keen on the exarch's pose, though, and since a squad is 3-5, I may just convert one of my regular spectres...
