Re: Let's have a GW rumors and sneak peeks thread!
Oh wow! Those are some nice toys. The more natural proportions on this batch of Sigmarines make them about 110% better.
Same as I do like the leaner, less cartoony look on these Swamphoboruks. The little weedy looking rank and file guys are just excellent.
@Balloonacorn- someone must make some sort of big giant-y, mutant whatsit that could count as a Fimir. Do you know Mierce (Meirce?) Minitatures? Tons and tons of giants and ogres of all sorts.

I'm a fan of the new Ork-kin with their grotesque proportions. The AoS modelling team has been doing really well lately and I'm almost tempted to accidentally start a third AoS army at this rate... Maybe we should do some box splits if enough people are interested in both sides. Also I'm hoping some of those Orks are the right size to proxy in a game of 40k, which would make my decision making a lot easier...

I would happily trade the Kruelboyz half of my box.
Re: Let's have a GW rumors and sneak peeks thread!
@Jye, I'm still on the fence about it but I'll let you know. Feel free to split it with anyone else though in the meantime.
Anyway, it seems like GW seems to have decided that the best way to make Orks tougher was by increasing their Toughness. Its going to be interesting to see what a T5 Ork landscape looks like since it'll help a bit against all the bolter/heavy-bolter fire flying around these days. Too bad they still only have 1W and a 6+ armour save which will probably still result in them dying in droves. Hopefully their points costs haven't been jacked up too hard.
I can only imagine how happy @Matt must be since lasguns are about as good as bolters now against Orks and since he also plays Orks thus landing on both sides on that equation.

Also, the new boys on the block are pretty much Skarboyz which makes me think that they might get rid of that stratagem. It also feels like they gave them that stat line since Goff Skarboyz were pretty popular in tournament builds and this basically forces anyone who wanted to continue using those builds to buy new models. Them getting a +1 to wound monsters and vehicles as well as a 6++ makes them seem significantly more useful than regular boyz, depending on how they're costed of course.

Choppas getting more AP also seems like a welcome change. This gives me hope for Tau pulse weapons possibly getting -1AP too but who knows what other sorts of wacky stuff will be out by then.

Yeah no worries. I want the box and the book etc etc so I'm not fussed about the purchase, I just don't want to start yet another army (and by the transitive property get drawn into expanding my Ironjawz alongside it), so trading for Marines/Stormcast/Drukhari/Nurgle stuff is probably the way to go.
(I still have a Necrons half of Indomitus and a Chaos half of Shadowspear that I should trade too
The MFM should have their codex points in it (same for Sisters, Grey Knights and Thousand Sons) so if you've seen any Ork leaks you may already know the answer to that question. I wouldn't be surprised if they got it for free.Anyway, it seems like GW seems to have decided that the best way to make Orks tougher was by increasing their Toughness. Meanwhile Sisters getting Fight Last with once/game Null Zone for 40 points looks real good. 40 points seems like a lot (2pl) but it's not competing with relic or warlord trait and just imagine that hitting your line with a bunch of Bloody Rose Repentia, Zephyrim or whatever.
Given between Canonesses and Palatines being cheap access to rerolls that can also carry these new effects, it'll be very interesting to see who is in and who is out for Core. It's hard to imagine Retributors being bad even if they're out, but if they're in (and if Repentia are in), Sisters should be staying very strong.

Orks barely got any points changes which isn't the worst with a new codex coming out. The points for the new boyz is still a mystery though I think so the power balance will depend on that.Jye Nicolson wrote: ↑Tue Jun 01, 2021 1:49 amThe MFM should have their codex points in it (same for Sisters, Grey Knights and Thousand Sons) so if you've seen any Ork leaks you may already know the answer to that question. Yeah hopefully not too expensive. There's lots of good cheap troops running around right now (Skitarii and Drukhari for example), no reason why Orks should have to pay a premium.

I have looked at Mierce Miniatures. They have some nice nurglally stuff. I am just a little leary of resin from companies I have not bought from.
Have you bought any of their stuff?

I got a bunch of Mierce's predecessor, Maelstrom Games' stuff, some of which is still available on the Mierce site (I think?). The resin is good, and their casting quality is superior to FW (not hard, I realise, but its a known point of reference, I guess?)

This is great information - many thanks, I am putting you on my Christmas card list.
