The new Battlebox has been previewed.

I've got a 30K Thousand Sons force that those Terminators and HQ can join and I'm sure I can find a use for the Tzeentch cultist/daemon things too. The Grey Knights.... not so much. Anybody interested in splitting the box?

I'm just relieved Tallgeese is finally getting a Codex and look forward to his richly deserved revenge.

Whelp, looks like they're going all-in with monsters this edition of AoS after all:

...I'm gonna need a bigger squig.

Both build options are named individuals, although I wouldn't be surprised if there was also a generic option. It looks like the blue one is the explicitly Stormcast-aligned dragon, and the red one is unaligned, so maybe it'll be like the giants with "anyone can ally one in".

They're both in the Stormcast book, I'm a little confused about the red one's status. Either way I expect I'll be picking up the kit, though hopefully we'll know something about how they shape up vs the stardrake in the new tome first.

They both look extremely dnd/wotc in terms of their styling. Which is not necessarily a bad thing per se, but one of warhammer’s biggest assets is its relatively unique visual style. Blue dragon in particular looks rather smug. He probably speaks with Brian Blessed’s voice, dispensing grandfatherly advice to plucky young protagonists in animated tv shows.

Or something.

But aye - they’re fine sculpts and all, they just don’t say “Warhammer” to me.

Yeah, they've definitely got a touch of Smaug / that one movie with the CGI dragon voiced by Sean Connery about the face.

It would have been cool to see them lean into the traditional GW serpentine dragon, but I guess that ship sailed with the first AoS dragon they released, of which these are clearly a development and improvement.

So it's not just me. :D
I thought the faces were a little too anthropomorphic, or as M_i_J puts it:

Give them more bestial faces and they'd be fine.
Something like this?

I'm going to get the smug dragon and I'm going to need someone to do the voice for me when he uses a Monstrous Action.

Why are people dissing Smaug? Greatest dragon ever!

More info on Kill Team.
https://www.warhammer-community.com/202 ... ng-points/

Good - Alternating activations. This keeps both players focused on the game.
Bad? - Turns have been renamed to 'Turning Points'. Why?

So in the new Kill Team, there are no points values for minis. But there are Action Points, Victory Points, Command Points and now Turning Points. I'm thinking the design team needs a better thesaurus.
