the allies list i threw up earlier wasnt intended as an exhaustive, exclusive list, just the pairings that i felt matched the usual modus operandi of the forces involved. there are always special circumstances that can be devised to suit any given pairing - i was just thinking of armies that often/usually work together, rather than occasionally.

well, I wish you guys good luck on sorting out the new rules and learning the new ropes of the allies. it looks like all of you are going to be kept busy for quite some time.

As for allies appearing all the time, I honestly don't think it'll happen too much. Anyways, I reserve the right to refuse to play someone who is just taking allies to compensate for army 'weaknesses'. If you're doing it for the above reason = If it's fluffy and looks cool = OK.

Melta Vets + Orks =
Inquisitor and retinue + IG =
Black Templars + Psykers =
CSM + Daemons (except Fateweaver) =

There's a few combinations that still aren't allowed;

Tyranids + anyone except Necrons; Mind Slaves
Imperial Guard + Tyranids; Genestealer Cult
Grey Knights + Chaos Daemons; Proper old-school Inquisitors with Daemon weapons that can summon daemons
