So much for your principled stand against GW's corporate abuse of market position. :) I thought you weren't buying any 40K stuff ever again?

Insert M_i_J's rebuttal here: Din't say I wasnt buying any more 40k stuff ever again. Im still a big fan of 40k. GWs constant price hikes and sales embargoes, i have a problem with. 40k, no.
________________________________________________________________
And his justification of still buying from FW here:

I won't be buying any more GW stuff, with the exception of the very occasional or one off-type character models e.g. Kheradruak. (I gave that specific example in my initial post.)

I also made it very clear that GW =/= FW. I like 40k, and want to see it do well. I do NOT want to see GW come crashing down. I do want them to change their prices and shipping policy.

FW have not raised their prices. Nor have they changed their shipping policy. I have no problem with FW. Never have done, which, again, I made clear at the time of my initial posts on the subject. I am aware that they and GW are essentially the same company, but one side of that company has consistently raised prices and also made shipping changes which offend me, and the other side has not.

Thus, I am quite happy to continue to buy from FW.

capiche?

 oh, why am i so misunderstood?

And now for some actual content to this post, some rather vague pics of FW's upcoming toys. (All the pictures are taken from the movie that FW played at the seminar, hence the poor quality).

#edit# Looks like Pikey beat me to the punch.

The Contemptor Dreadnought with Mortis Pattern weapons.

A new Techmarine with Conversion Beamer.

The Imperial Guard Praetor.

And something for M_i_J, yes, its the double hulled raider that appeared as a mock up a few months back. This is the Tantalus

The conversion beamer on that techmarine has a 1950's 'ray gun' look to it. Don't like the whips much to be honest.

The dread looks lovely though.

Yeah, the whips may have to go, but at least spare marine arms aren't that hard to come by. :D I kinda like the 'ray gun' look though.

Yeah, the gun is pretty cool.

I assume he is well and truly on your shopping list.

@AGP - what prim said.

general comments on stuff:

tantalus - super heavy or nay? If not, ill probly get one. If yes, hum. Itll never see use. Im interested to see how the brass etched stuff is incorporated.

tech marine - i heard him described as like Mickey Rourke's character from Ironman2 , which kinda endears him to me. As it stands, the model is very immobile and non-dynamic. With a bit of thought, though, you could have the whips flying about all over the place. Itd take some conversion in the arms, and maybe some body reposing, but the whips themselves, being resin, would be easily re-posable. Could be ace, I reckon. *edit* looking at the pic again, the shoulder pads are gonna be your biggest issue. In fact, giving whips to a space marine was a silly idea.

praetor - like others, I really like this, and Im not sure why. Maybe its just the sheer "Im a big tank wiv a big gun" vibe that it has. Totally unsubtle, but definitely pretty kick ass.

contemptor dreads - I like them a lot. I especially like the one with 2 assault cannons and a cyclone, but obviously us chaosy types wont be getting that :( I still think the twin Pfist one is the coolest looking, tho.

Since when?
December 2006: A Warhound Titan with 2 arms was 250 quid. Now its 240 and you have to buy both arms for another 70. Total increase 24% (5% per year)
December 2007: A squad of Ogryn Beserkers cost 55 quid. Now you have to buy them individually for a total of 79.60. Total increase 44% (11% per year)
July 2008: A Macharius tank with Vulcan Bolters cost 85 quid. Now it is 97. Total increase of 14% (5% per year)
They do increase their prices, nobody really notices because they're expensive as all get out to begin with.
