14,000 fully-painted points of Apocalypse!
Last weekend I travelled to Yamaguchi to play an Apocalypse battle with an old friend, the legendary Ryogo ("R-Man"). We play Apocalypse with our Hiroshima group about once a year always as teams of 3 or more guys a side. But he and I had long talked about a one-one-one Apocalypse. Two players, two huge armies on a giant board. We finally did it. I brought 7,000 points of Night Lords (including a Brass Scorpion, Doomsday Device, Hellblade, and Silver Tower) and he took out 7000 points of his Imperial Fists (he had to cut his list down from 10,000 points). Ryogo fielded a Legion Fellblade and an actual Thunderhawk!
And the best part of it was every single piece down to the last Tactical Marine and Summoned Daemon was painted! 14,000 points, fully-painted, on the table at one time...don`t see that very often in Japan...or anywhere, probably. Anyway, Ryogo took about 500 pics and is composing a battle report on his website. The first installment is up; take a look if you like looking at large, painted armies...Ryogo`s painting is legendary all over Japan (and now all over the world), so it`s worth looking at just for that. Just click on the link for April 2nd.

Wow! Sounds exciting. I look forward to seeing the pics and reading the report.
BTW, Ryogo's website is very impressive.

That is mental. Kudos to you both for fielding two great looking armies and for getting through such a mammoth game.

Very cool. Nicely painted armies too, especially the Fists!
So many games, so little time....

Very impressive! Please pass on my respec' to Rman (and keep some for your good self, of course
). There are very few games of apocalypse played at such a nice looking level. Very nice blog, too. Lots of info and pleeeenty of pics, which is very important. It'd be nice to see Rman on CMoN (if he isnt already, that is. Who's to say what his username might be?)

Thanks for taking a look and thanks for the nice replies. He keeps updating it with plenty of pics. I think you`ll find that he is also an excellent photographer of miniatures. Many of his photos look like epic scenes from movies and just the pics in his blog tell the story quite well.
We started talking about our next Apocalypse battle. I think we`ll go back to our team Apocalypse style next time...probably during one of the long weekends in September. We`re still in the discussion stage, but we may attempt a true "Warhammer 40,000" battle: 20,000 points a side, fully-painted. I don`t know if it can be done in just two days. But we might try it.

Truly inspiring stuff. Love the pics taken from the Marine-eye-view of the Brass Scorpion.
