Ork rumours.

Looks like a mini wave for ork players is on the way. Looks like this will slot in sometime in spring 2013 by my estimate...
Wave contents:
Ork buggy/half track Dakka/skorcha/rokket plastic (1x box) $33.00 US
Deffcopters all options plastic (1x box) $33.00 US
Meganobs all options plastic (5x box) $50.00 US
Flashgits upgrade finecast (3x clamshell) $19.75 US

Edit: corrected buggies and koptas, those are 1 per, In a sentinel size box. Had incorrect price points too... Still expensive.

Hmmm, I am sure they will be nice kits but GW is definitely pricing itself out of my budget with every new release.
#edit# - Having seen the prices of the current range, I take this back. It's not that bad really. See my post below.

33 bucks a Deffcopta/Buggy is nuts. I think GW pricing strategy is to make sure everyone spends 100$ per unit in their army.

Especially considering that due to Black Reach Deffcoptas are fairly commonplace and other variants can be converted fairly easily from spare parts.

Price is not that much of an issue. Really I do not see anything wrong with the prices. Especiay if the do not increase the price on the japanes model.
Also with Orks if you do not want to pay for it you don't need to you can make it.
all told my 3rd party flash gitz were a bout the same. So really not a problem as I see it.

Current prices:
1 Plastic Buggy = $30
1 Plastic Wartrak = $27.25
1 Metal Skorcha = $30
1 Metal Deffcopta = $33
5 Metal Meganobs = $98.75
So for a small increase you get a plastic buggy kit that can make any of 3 options (more bits), the deffcopta costs the same as it currently does and the meganobs will save you a bundle. For once I think GW are being pretty reasonable. Especially since the current wartraks and skorchas look awful.
Mind you, they are still expensive if you want to build an army out of them.

GW loves ORK players because they know we can just make our own stuff so they have to make great models for reasonable prices.
