I reckon that the paint job doesn't help any of em. The flyer may be beyond redemption, but I ain't a fan of flyers particularly anyway (with the exception of eldar, who I feel fit the zoomy theme reasonably well).

The maulerfiend isn't too bad, I think. None of em scream "nurgle" mind you...

The monster-robot-Gundam stuff has no appeal to me, but the Night Lords and jump pack infantry found in MiJ's post are pretty cool an detailed. I might go NL with my CSM army. That or iron warriors.

The new rapters look great.

The new raptors suffer from the same problem most of the previous chaos range suffered from: they're legion specific*. At best you could call em black legion/generic. At worst, theyre night lords. What they ain't is any use to anybody who plays world eaters, death guard, thousand sons, iron warriors, emperors kiddies or alpha legion. At least, not if you care about having a visually cohesive army. On the plus side, it's one less thing for me to concern myself about not buying.

*at least, they're clearly un-affiliated with the legions I mentioned above.

Well, MIJ...(as a Night Lords player) I`d say the same thing if they brought out new cult troops in plastic ("Awww, man. Who needs these?!"). So, I`m really happy about plastic Raptors. Most of the rumors point to this plastic kit making two separate units: one that is basically "Chaos Assault Marines" that any legion or warband can use, and another that is more like a specific cult of troops (mainly belonging to the Night Lords, perhaps?)

I have a Hellblade, so I`ll probably skip on the flying dragon thing...the two walkers look a bit corny in those photos and I don`t think having a techmarine in a Night Lords army sounds very fluffy...so I`m most looking forward to the plastic Raptors!

I like these more than the existing CSM stuff, and I think they're well painted, but I don't like the studio lighting with the red backlight they've tried using.

(Mind you, at least they're loosening up and experimenting with new things.)
