Tau at last but at what price!

Post by Miguelsan » Sun Mar 17, 2013 2:24 am

Tau are almost here but I cry for the Madmiral and Underdweller on the prices. I think that after the update FW will be cheaper. Time to check if those Armored Core boxes at Joshin will do for you guys methinks.

The Riptide and the fighter/bomber look ok. The battlesuits and broadsides are pretty much unchanged by the looks of things so they don't need to be replaced if you already have some.

Without reading through all of that thread, I expect Tau to e very soon because there's a new tau hardback novel being pimped on the black library site.

I also expect at least 1 dual flyer kit, as well as a silly big robot/mecha suit because that's the way things are going now. Fantasy get their stupid big ugly monsters, 40k gets stupid big robots/ugly monsters. The potential for ace is there, but GW have a very poor track record when it comes to bigbads (dread knight, maulerfiend, that flipping abomination of a fantasy chaos monster beastie)

Other than that, new fire warriors and battlesuit sculpts, maybe potential for an all-kroot list.

*edit* Aah. Page 15. Note to self: read post properly before responding to it. Hum. Anyway - big silly robot, as predicted, as well as flyer kit. Not dual though. And they didn't redo the crisis suits? Wtf? Flyer ain't so hot, either. The barracuda is way cooler.

Indeed. Path of the renegade and incubus, too. They're meh ok. Tbh I'm pondering the value of selling/trading a lot of my black library books. They sit on my shelves taking up space, and there's a very limited number of em I ever read more than once. Problem is, as books they would cost a fortune to post, so eBay is not a great option. I have a complet run of Horus Heresy books (except the most recent one) and about as many non-heresy ones again. Don't suppose anybody would be interested in buying/trading for em?

Can't say I'm hugely impressed by the Riptide or Bomber; they do look Tau-like, and the Riptide makes sense for the whole Japanese Giant Robot feel of the army, they just don't look especially interesting, I guess.

That won't stop me from wanting them if they can dish out a decent amount of firepower, although the $85 dollar price tag on the Riptide might give me second thoughts...

Glad to see that I can still use my Battlesuits and Broadsides, though.

I have heard that Lizardmen and possibly even Tyranids are also getting new Codexes soon, looks like it might be an expensive year for me!

I am not fussed about price. I can normally get the models I want. The price of a big model is always a bit high.
