I was sort of thinking that the absolutely zero-support codexes (grey knights and chaos) got simultaneous releases, so anything non-simultaneous might at least get summat. But who's to say!me_in_japan wrote:Death guard is looking to be a large release, with at least mortarion, typhus, a tank, a termi unit and a box of those blight drone thingies. I'd be surprised if admech saw the same scale of release the next month. S'not impossible, but I'd be surprised if their production facilities could stretch so far. We shall see...

Death Guard teasers:
https://www.warhammer-community.com/201 ... ge-post-2/
Sort of seems like their thing will be "continuing to be super hard to kill" (Seriously, 4+ resilience warlord trait? Siiiiick) while having lots of short-range sources of mortal wounds to help buff their so-far fairly lackluster killy power in general. Which will make them very strong against elite armies, while they might struggle with hordes.

Interestingly, 3 Deathshroud termis (new plastic box) is 35quid, which after element games' pre-order 20% discount comes down to 28quid, which is about the same (per mini) as 49 quid for 5 HH Deathshroud termis from FW.
Put another way, after a 20% discount, GWs plastic minis cost the same as Forge World ones.

Yeah, I noticed something similar pricing out dreadnoughts. The new potbellied bigmarine dread is 9200 yen MSRP, which is really only slightly less than getting a leviathan from forgeworld at 72 GBP.
Mind, I really do kind of think the new GW plastic kits are at least on par with forgeworld in terms of quality of sculpt, and the deathshroud in particular are really nice. They're really hitting it out of the park with the nurgle releases IMO.

Do the FW minis include arms at that price? FW sometimes sell them as a separate pack.me_in_japan wrote:Interestingly, 3 Deathshroud termis (new plastic box) is 35quid, which after element games' pre-order 20% discount comes down to 28quid, which is about the same (per mini) as 49 quid for 5 HH Deathshroud termis from FW.

Full minis, I believe.
I agree with Dave, regarding the quality of gw plastics recently. I've been putting together my dark imperium death guard, and it's not just that the minis fit neatly together - it's that all the joints are meticulously placed so that they're out of sight, or at the very least at natural armour joints. While this does lend itself particularly towards monopose minis, it's nonetheless very impressive.

And how many of them do you need for a full squad?

It's 3-5 for 40k, I think. I don't have the rule book in hand, so I'm not 100% sure.

I think Mortarion's power level really might be over 9000. Am I the only one thinking he is TOO stupid good. I mean 18 strength 8, -2 ap, plague weapon attacks in close combat is just a bit spastic. Poor guilliman... Doesn't stand a chance.
