Well folks, it looks like GW have finally caved in to demand and are releasing a skirmish game set in the 40K universe!
The new game, Shadow War: Armaged... er, Necromun... er, Gangs of Comm... er, Deathwatch Overk... er, Execution For... er, Rogue Trader Ki... oh, wait. That's right. Rogue Trader Kill Team is a brand new skirmish game featuring all new Nurgle and Rogue Trader models. (Yes, that's right, actual Rogue Trader minis).

Interesting. Apparently under the new CEO GW remembered that the G in the name means games
Pity that the Nurgle half quells my excitement somewhat because if those Rogue Trader figures are the final product I'm very interested.

Re: New 40K Skirmish Game
The rumors are that it's more Warhammer Quest / Deathwatch Overkill than a full-on skirmish game - it won't be stepping on Necromunda or Kill Team's toes. And you never know, the way they're going these days it still might end up being an actual game people would want to play rather than "some minis you want, plus a bunch of cardboard components to immediately throw in the trash."
Looks pretty though!

The minis are really nice. Whether or not the somewhat cartoony aesthetic of the nurgle stuff tickles your fancy is a matter of personal opinion, but the rogue trader stuff is proppa 40k. If the rules are fun and the box ain’t too pricey , I can see this doing well.

And heck, if the RT stuff is a precursor for an "Agents of the Imperium" codex like Deathwatch Overkill was for Genestealer Cults (was it? I wasn't really paying attention with the timing back then) it'd be pretty dang sweet too. The more weirdo reprobates I can have to keep my Inquisitor company the better.

You need to get a pin vise and some putty. Kitbashing reprobates is fun!The Other Dave wrote:And heck, if the RT stuff is a precursor for an "Agents of the Imperium" codex like Deathwatch Overkill was for Genestealer Cults (was it?
