wheee! thats a stupid miniature.

which is not to say I dont like it - i think it has its own charm, and could look v cool in a diorama, but seriously guys, giant robot bugs? you can do better than that...

quite like the rules, though. Fairly balanced. badass, yes, but not stupidly so. The rule about being tough against poison and snipers is a bit of a copout though. It smells a bit of fanboy rules development.

I can see why a giant robot bug wouldnt be particularly bothered by a spot of poison, but it doesnt matter. I'll kill it with missile launchers and finish the job with powerfists/meltas.

Its priced fairly cheaply according to the newsletter, only 36 pounds for a million little pieces, whereas the Caestus Assault Ram is 92 pounds for what amounts to a flying box. I know which one I would rather put together.

to be fair, at least theyre showing the necrons some love. About time somebody did...

With the whole anti-poison things, I totally agree with the idea for the rule. What i dont like is the mechanics of it. Too slap-dash (i.e. "quick! I have a neat idea. lets make up a new special rule for it!" and with no real recourse to regular USR. why not just say "poison weapons dont work on it. at all"

Because then you'd have weapons that were potentially useless. Its not to bad when you have other magic bullets to use (a-la sternguard) but for creatures/units etc who only have poisoned weapons you effectively say "You cannot do anything to stop this beastie from tearing you apart." This just makes them ineffectual, but it still gives you a chance. Sadly guard flashlights are just going to illuminate this thing.

Well, to be fair, Gargantuan Creatures have this rule in Apocalypse (I know, because I just fielded a super-huge Great Unclean One). I think that rules...and this one for the Tomb Stalker is kind of GW/FWs way of play-testing certain rules. I wouldn`t be surprised if this immunity became an army-wide rule in the next Necron Codex. If you believe that a new Necron Codex will one day be released.

Sorry, I forgot to point out that I love this model. I think it looks cool. It keeps the desert theme of the Necrons. It`s nice "version uP" for the Tomb Spyder. And it could be a legitimate Heavy Support choice OTHER THAN THE UBIQUITOUS MONOLITH that appears in every Necron army.

I too love the look of the model rules wise it is nothing special a other than the T 7... but hey I figure if you can put the thing together then you should be abel to at least laugh of the stern-guards shots that seem to trump almost any unit in the game...
