Storm Raven Gunship incoming?

Post by Mike the Pike » Thu Nov 11, 2010 10:25 pm

*JJB* Looky Looky meesa found da pix anda newz ovva Storm Raven Gunship!

http://www.warseer.com/forums/showpost. ... ostcount=1

Is it the real deal or just a conversion?
Personally I think it looks pretty 'meh', not half as cool as the Valkyrie kit.

Could this be a start/continuation of a trend towards semi-flyers for each Army? The IG already have theirs rules wise and an actual model, Dark eldar have rules for 2 IIRC and now the Marines have theirs too. Interesting or is that worrying?

Well, it's not as sleek and mean looking as I would have liked, but I guess it is a troop transporter rather than an actual gunship (stoopid marines and their dual purpose vehicles :o ). It does look like a flying metal box.

I think it is the real deal and quite like it.

Sleek? Why the hell would any think driven/piloted by a Space Marine be sleek. Space Marine vehicles are the Volvos of the 40K universe.

After having another look at the model, I can only say it really is awful. While I agree with Spev that SM stuff isn't meant to look sleek this just looks wrong. It's too stumpy, like a sawn-off Thunderhawk.

Well, it is supposed to be a fast, aerodynamic gunship. This looks like someone stood a rhino on its front end and glued wings to it. It would be better if it was longer and not quite as tall I think. Now I'm REALLY tempted to get a Caestus and proxy it. If only the Caestus wasnt 3x the price....

That said, I do like the turret on the roof. That would look awesome mounted on a Razorback.

Big time "bleuuurgh" from me.

I agree that it's very imperial looking. Imperial stuff is not and should not be sleek or streamlined, but this thing has absolutely no aesthetic value whatsoever. It doesnt even say "indestructible armour plated gunship" - it just says "clumsy and unmaneoverable" and "ugly"

and as for the whole flyer thing, I read somewhere (in yon link Prim posted about 90% of the Dark Eldar stuff being out by June) that this summer is to be "the summer of flyers"

make of that what you will...(um, I'll make a stormraven-darkeldarflyer1-darkeldarflyer2-neweldarflyer-neworkflyer-newsomethingelseimperialflyer-and-a-new-set-of-rules-for-flyers out of it, thanks...)
current (2019) hobby interests
eh, y'know. Stuff, and things

Wow. And then Corona happened. Just....crickets, all the way through to 2023...
