The BOLS Venom challenge

One of the contributors over at BOLS set up a modeling and painting contest to build a venom (the new light transport for Dark Eldar). Check out this linky to see sme of the cool entrants:

I like the 3 by Par Norlund the best. The paint scheme isn't my cup of tea but the models look the coolest IMHO

I like the one by Billy Wardlaw, though I think it needs the guns in a better position. Some of them are pretty good. Here's hoping GW's own looks better though.

Im with Prim on this one. Ithink Wardlaw's entry is closest to how I imagine a venom to look. Guns-wise, its eldar. the guns largely go on the bottom. besides, its not really sposed to be a gunboat - its a transport, so the guns should be low key. (altho ive noticed you can have 2 splinter cannon on it. Add in some nasty shooty troops on board and it could be well ouchy...)

You mean like the weapons on Vypers, Falcons, Wave Serpents, Fire prisms, Raiders and Ravagers?

Seriously, it's definitely a contender. But the lack of dorsal mounted weapons makes it look like a Dark Eldar pick up truck.

wow, creativeness. I think buffo's wickedly looking speed boat is the most wicked. The fin at the back makes it look chinese. Jonathan scott's however is practically a dark eldar bus, its a tank on a tank on tank. Bill wadlaws, is very star wars, a good design and proper, but I think I'd vote for buffo.

Jonathan Scott's is my pick I do not know why but red Darkeldar look cool to me ...

Can you say "Biel tan wannabes"?
IMHO The model looks like the result of a drunken kit-bashing session, rather than a well thought out conversion (see: Wardlaw or Norlund. heck, pretty much any of the others). The paint job is pretty rubbish too.
