New Eldar

Post by Primarch » Tue Dec 21, 2010 10:27 pm

I just got the latest FW newsletter.
This:
ShadowSpectre.jpg
was attached to it.
The first few months of the New Year will see the long-awaited release of the mysterious Shadow Spectre Aspect Warrior Squad. A model from this kit was first unveiled at Games Day UK back in September, and the talented Simon Egan has produced another four Shadow Spectres and is currently working his sculpting magic on an Exarch to lead the unit.

Given the recent 'marine-heavy' IA books, it looks like Forge World will be giving some love to every-ones second favourite space elves (cos we all know that everyone loves Dark Eldar more since their make-over).

These chaps have jet packs (a-la Tau) not jump packs and their weapons work on a Fire Prism basis. Ie you can fire them seperately or you can link their fire.

I'm sure this has been posted before, but here it is again.

so they decide to release a new aspect warrior unit "after" I sell my eldar army. Oh the humanity.

hmm shadowy, jumpy, and toting a big gun that looks like a mix between a bright lance and a reaper launcher and a mini prism cannon. I'm guessing these are the "shooty aspect" of high toughness, multi wound, heavy infantry killers, while possibly having the ability to combine prisms and punch through armour. There isn't an aspect warrior unit so far, that I can think of, that covers that role (except maybe shining spears, but they are definatley more a close combat aspect).

Shucks, and here's me with an Eldar army that is lacking some kind of jumpy, prism cannony infantry unit.

Of course, being resin they'll be even more expensive than standard aspect warriors and more susceptible to breaking. Joy!

I'll have to see how my finances are doing when they are released.
