Dreadnought armies

Post by ashmie » Fri Apr 08, 2011 6:03 am

There were a couple of awesome army lists for dreadnought heavy armies for Blood Angels in last months White Dwarf. I'll try and scan it and paste it on here at a later date.

I worked out the cost of a dreadnought heavy army. With all the paints and everything it would come to about 400 pounds if you bought it all from GW in one hit.
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

It's possible to convert the Black Reach dreads into something else if you have a kit handy.
I recently converted a Black Reach dread into a Furioso pattern dread just by filing down some of the parts and gluing the arms in place (since the pegs on the BR version are smaller than usual).

with the rate of exchange you can get a good Dread army from Forge World for a bit less than you would think... that give me some thing to think about.. hummmmmmm

Please don't scan WD and post it here. (copyright etc). But by all means 'write your own list' and post that. :D

Forge World would be cool, but even with the current exchange rates it would be expensive to do a dread heavy force. Very very cool though.

As with any themed army it will either do very well or very poorly depending on your opponent's force. If your opponent has a lot of Lascannons/Melta guns/Missile Launchers its going to be a short, painful game. The lack of scoring units in a list focussed on dreadnoughts may also be a problem. That said, in some games it would rock.
