Definitely NOT a Primarch

For those of you who don't know, the picture I have used for my Avatar (and M_i_J too, though with a few small alterations) is actually a model from a company called Kabuki miniatures.
Kabuki make a small range of metal figures in various scales and one of their product lines is half a dozen models which are 100% NOT the Warhammer 40k space marine Primarchs.
Their latest addition to the range certainly isn't Ferrus Manus.

I think his left hand is supposed to be holding a severed head, but it's not very clear. I hope that gets cleaned up a little in the final product. How he severed that head whilst wielding a warhammer I'm not sure.

If GW made them, I would buy GW. As it is, I have exactly 1 option barring some russian guy who sells models on ebay for massive sums.
Everything I have seen/heard of Mantic (the people, not the models) seems to indicate that they have an attitude problem. E.g. Youtube videos of them taking the p1ss out of GW, slagging them off at trade fairs and insulting people who work for them. Saying "We're better than you" and then ripping off their ideas doesn't endear them to me very much.

Oh and Draco-chickens. Bad, bad, bad, bad, bad. :D

Attitude aside, they are doing exactly what Manitc does. Mantic may rip off GW minis, but this guy is ripping off GW imagery. Sure, GW don't make Primarch models but your whole argument of not being creative enough to think of your own stuff must apply here too. This guy is making a fast buck (or a quick quid) off of another persons idea.

And while GW doesn't make Primarch models, they do make enough models for you to kit-bash one if you so desired.

Seems like a bit of a double standard there mate.

I dont disagree, it is a bit of a double standard. And I do have a kitbashed Corax (thanks to the talents of DungeonLord and M_i_J). However, the effort involved in kitbashing a model and the end result of said work, to me, is more than I am willing to do, so I choose to buy the Kabuki figures. As I said, I would buy the GW one's in preference but since GW have stated they will never make them I can't.
From the other side of things, if GW turned round and made Draco-Chickens I'm sure people would be calling them thieving Grimlocks.
To sum up my position, which people are free to disagree with/disapprove of if they so wish.
I have absolutely no disagreement with generic models or historical models (orcs and elves, napoleonics etc),
I have no trouble if the model will never be available (kabuki's range),
I'm ok if the model isnt available now and the producer isnt an idiot using copyright terms (CHS being an idiot), provided that the alternative is discontinued as and when the real model becomes available.
I firmly believe that if the model IS available and another company makes a knock off just to cash in on it, that the other company is a bunch of thieving Grimlocks with no excuse.
This purchasing behaviour extends into things other than models. Models just happen to be my largest expenditure of disposable income.

I have Lorgar in a box in my room (along with the Big E, Horus, Rowboat Girlyman, Magnus, Sanguinius, Angron and Fulgrim). So far only Dorn and the Lion have been built. I need to spend some time with a file and some superglue and do the others I guess.
Manus isn't available yet, but I hope to place an order for him in May after I get my paycheck from work.
