Malifaux - Broken Promises

For those of you who play Malifaux, book 5 of 2nd Edition is now on sale.
I've had a chance to read through a copy and it's certainly got some gameplay potential, though it doesn't bring an awful lot to the game.
Each faction gets half a dozen new models. Some seem to have pretty good synergy with certain Masters or Crews, some are more general purpose. There are no new Masters in this book. Instead each Master gets two new upgrade cards. These can either take the Master in a new direction or help out with one of their weak points. Finally all of the Emissary models gain a new card which ties up with the Masters released in book 4.
All of the new upgrade cards are being released as a deck next month I believe.

Story wise, the book continues where book 4 left off. The Guild have a new Governor General, the Arcanists, Neverborn and Ten Thunders have some change ups in their faction leadership, the Outcasts are cast out of the city, The Resurrectionists have to team up and the Gremlins vote for their own Gremlin Governor General using the process of Democrazy.

All in all a neat addition, but not essential to buy unless you really want to read the fluff.

Get thee behind me, Satan. Enough of this tempting talk of new Malifaux books. Actually, I don't think I've even got book 4. I do enjoy the fluff for Mali, though. Tends to be my main driver of buying books, tbh.
