I'm kinda looking forward to this. It'll hopefully be like Man O' War, but not fiddly and annoying.

Man-o-War was a cool game way back in the day and I used to like it a lot, but it did tend to suffer from the same overly-fiddly rules that a lot of the specialist games used. Hopefully this Dread Fleet game will be streamlined and easy to get into. Its just a shame that it is going to be a one shot deal with no support afterwards. I think I'll be sticking to Uncharted Seas to get my fantasy naval fix in, (Though that hasn't seen any real support since Dystopian Wars came out), but I am keen to see what GW do with it.
For anyone wondering what all the big deal is, I suggest reading Fell Cargo by Dan Abnett, its a pirate story set in the Warhammer Fantasy world and is a darn good read.
Why'd they make the mat 5' by 3.5'? Every other game is 6' by 4'The Other Dave wrote:Game info's up:

The ships are generally pretty cool-lookin', I'll give them that. Nice mat, too.
If I was going to be cynical, I'd say "just to be contrary," but I wouldn't be surprised if it's so they can fold it up neatly into their standard-sized box.Primarch wrote:Why'd they make the mat 5' by 3.5'? Every other game is 6' by 4'
