Empire this weekend?
Re: Empire this weekend?
I don't play Empire, but I do like the new models. The Griffon is massive by the looks of it, far bigger than the High Elf model from Island of Blood. Whilst I quite like the demi-gryph riders, I do agree that including one of every unit type simply for the sake of including one of every unit type isn't always the best idea.

Now that you said that, it does remind me of the Spevna as a big fat plump Christmas turkey.Spevna wrote:me_in_japan wrote:Sorry - a meh from me. The griffon's neck is too fat - there's no grace to the mini. The weapon carts are ok, but warmahordes did it better
Yes, yes indeed. Looking at the giant griffin reminded The Spevna of a big fat plump Christmas turkey, especially the overly feathered puffy chest.

Re: Empire this weekend?
To be honest I've never found killing anything T5 to be difficult in 40k. A powerfist disregards the difference and there are so many S7/8/9 options that just treat the difference the same.
On the other hand, I do agree T4 for humans is kind of silly. They're supposed to humans, not Orks or Dwarves. Once you start playing with characteristics like this it kind of erodes the core differences and styles between armies. Then again, WoC have long been T4... oh well.

Isn't that just the standard statline for all human heroes?Admiral-Badruck wrote:T 4 'oomies are just plain daft. Especially in FB where t4 is like t5. In 40k

Re: Empire this weekend?
some humans get T4 still. it is a differentiation between humans and elves who are eternally T3.

Re: Empire this weekend?
Oh. On reconsideration T4 for a hero character seems perfectly normal and fitting, like putting mega or hard armor on a nob.

So bing rough and tough makes you as hard to kill as an Astarties. There is no way they should have toughness 4.

Re: Empire this weekend?
two different game systems. Remember in 2nd ed 40k, the astrates could reach T5 while normal humans could make t4. And a dwarf is even tougher than an astrate, they can still get to t6 I think.
