*cough* Blood Angels as Pre-heresy World eaters *cough*
The only reason the Madmiral doesn't take cheesy armies against Spevna is that he is scared. Not physically, but scared that the only person that hasn't noticed what a WAACy, cheesy band wagon jumper he actually is, might wake up and smell the coffee.

Thank you to the two people who actually replied to the topic of the conversation and not go off topic with grievances that don't even pertain to the fantasy forum anyways. Where's that fantasy forum moderator anyways? Oh right, he's at the front of the pack.
With the advice of the two, I'll shelve the skaven and as my primary army i will return to my fantasy roots and rebuild my dwarfs.

Dwarves? They weren't even an option were they?Colonel Voss wrote:Thank you to the two people who actually replied to the topic of the conversation and not go off topic with grievances that don't even pertain to the fantasy forum anyways. Oh well, so long as you are happy playing such a beardy army (see what I did there?).
Honestly, as long as the models, the fluff and the painting is appealing you cant go wrong. Look at The Other Dave, he's doing an all-goblin army because he thinks its fun to paint them as Smurfs.

Re: rethinking fantasy
the question I posed was what to do with the skaven. like I said, I like them, but I'm not sure if I liked them enough to make a B team my primary. Everyone said go with the funnest one and there's nothing more fun than a loud mouth, beer swilling, grudge holding, artillery loving, gold digging, rock with a beard.

BTW, since this was my first army, I think I inherit the right to be an old grumbler.

Re: rethinking fantasy
Dwarves, great stuff! Baruck Khazad, Khazad ai-menui (translation: "gas lighters, get your gas lighters 3 for 1 pound"). I think I prefer those more traditional/classic fantasy factions. I can get on board with the idea of elves, dwarfs, knights, but not so much Lizards and rats and kinky elves etc.
I played with Dwarves once in 7th as my first game coming back into the hobby, they were hard as nails obviously, but very static, which disappointed me a little. But it's said they will potentially be more agressive and mobile in 8th (perhaps due to movement rule changes?), which will make them a lot of fun if so.
And there are tons of options in the collectors section/mordheim minis to spice things up.
Good time to pick up Skull pass I reckon. There are a couple of orc and goblin players out there who might want the non Dwarfy bits.

Re: rethinking fantasy
nah, what you need to do is show your a true greenskin and get fantasy orcs as well and try to smack them around with them. that way they can't say you're choosing the greenskins because they are full of cheese.

Re: rethinking fantasy
Humblest apologies for hijacking your thread oh mighty Colonel. Obviously humour has no place in such deadly serious forum
On topic, are you sure you want to go back to Dwarves instead of one of the other armies you mentioned? Even with the 8th edition rule changes, I don't think they are going to get much more mobile. All those guns and rock hard infantry do have a certain appeal but that might wear thin after a while. That said, they are reasonably easy to paint to a reasonable standard and not too hard on the wallet.
