hmm, high elves really are the spacemarines now. In any case I can't wait to get a few games in myself. If it makes you feel any better badruk I'm a complete noob as it is, so if you play me, we"ll be at a lot more level playing field (i.e vampire counts have arguably the worst core troops in the entire game) the beauty of it is, you don't care if they die in droves, so by all means, unleash your blood thirsters and friends on them...just leave enough standing so I can raise them back up.

Can you guys posts your army lists up? It would be nice to see what sort of chemistry makes up 8th ed lists now.
Also, how did you guys find the magic phases? Did you guys actually manage to get alot of spells off?

This thread is so funny :D The Daemon and Vampire Counts players whining about their 'weak' armies.

@Rob: No need to pack the game in just yet. Just remember that it isn't 40K and that lone frontal assaults by Monstrous Creatures just don't work. You could just about get away with it in last edition but 8th seems to require a bit more co-ordination. BTW I have learned from long, bitter experience, that you never fight Sword Masters in Close Combat, ya gotta shoot 'em instead.

BTW High Elves are nothing like Space marines IMHO. They are a pretty strong army but have one huge glaring weakness, they are ELVES! They have weakish armour and they are toughness 3. On top of that they are pretty expensive.

Black Guard with the ASF banner. Higher initiative trumps Speed of Asuryan.

When going to a new game, you have to accept that you are new and that you need to learn. I'm quickly finding that out with Flames of War. I haven't played a game yet but I already know that Mike is going to smash my army up something fierce. I'll probably be tabled by the end of turn 3 if I'm lucky to survive that long. The rules and the feeling of the battles are that different.

40k to Fantasy is the same way. The tactics you use in 40k just won't pass muster in Fantasy. You have to understand that you are a rookie and approach it as such. In fantasy, an elite army isn't going to push through a numerically superior opponent as easily as in fantasy especially if the numerically superior opponent is an elite army as well. And they'll hit back pretty dang hard under the new rules.

Another thing to keep in mind is that yes the bloodthirster is a very good close combat unit just like in 40k. But this is fantasy and all line units are built for close combat.

Not too much to say really tbh it really is not my cup of tea. But no real tears of disspare here just dissapointed that I lost my blood thirster in combat with weedy elves several miss plays and me not knowing a thing about my army and not understanding ranks was a bit of my trouble not going to give up on it yet magic is the bigest turn off but that is just me. For me magic is a card game. Having no shooting kind of sucks but that's the army I picked and the fact that bloodcrushers are the worst unit for the points makes me glad they are good in 40K

I wouldn't count on that Voss. I'm a pretty terrible player so far. Just ask TOD about the 'At the double with no recce' incident. :D

My WoC currently don't have anything to shoot with. Doesn't worry me at all. This isn't 40k or FoW where everyone and their dog has a gun. You just have to learn to use terrain to your advantage and screen your units properly and get stuck in right proper.

And to be fair Admiral, you've cut a full 3/4 of the army out by going mono. In 7th ed it was actually pretty strong, but the new edition has really made using a mono army a harder prospect. Your shooting is in the tzeentch units and your unit muncher is the slaneesh. Your bloodthrister and your bloodletters are great character killers. And old nurgle is just hard to shift. Demons actually have a learning curve for a change.

I have zero respect for anyone that takes a full chaos multi power army in 40K or FB... I will not play Tzeench can't do it... I know it could be better if I could but I just can't do it... if some one wants to throw Nurgle and Purple perves together good on them but if someone is playing any combo of a 3 or the 4 well they just do not get it... props to Dungeon lord - Spevena -MIJ for keeping a clean 40K army free of any anti fluffy stuff... I have thought it over and if I can't win with an all Khorne Army then I better get my butt back to 40k...
