 Of that, I can easily imagine.

Overall I think you are off to a good start idea wise. I look forward to seeing you on the field of battle.

The special troops on the other hand are quite the awesome sauce. Shambling skeletons though they may be. Primarch mentioned earlier that Grave guard are actually quite decent...and i'm inclined to agree. Although I maybe a bit biased since I like skeletons. Blood knights as well. There's my vampire coven right there. and mounted and in heavy armour as well. Is that enough character for the army? I think so.
Well then, go for it.
But even if you dont have them in your army to begin with, you will need zombies. Yes the models are lame, yes they are ineffectual, but if you can raise a unit of them behind the enemy troops and then cast Vanhels Dance on them, you're laughing.

Also, having seen it done (although I can't, of course, find pictures now that I need them), Empire troops done up as zombies look quite awesome.

Empire or bretonnians, both would look very cool

A mix of brettonians and empire knightly orders would be a cheap alternative to Blood Knights who are ridiculously expensive model wise. Brettonian peasants, empire state troops and flagellants all make good zombies.

This http://fullmetalplanet.biz/shop/mindsta ... /0032.html might be good for a Varghulf if you want a less wolfy look.

Malefic do Gamezone minis in Japan https://www.malefic.jp/list/GZM07 but they dont seem particularly cheap.

Maelstrom and Wayland (click the link below, go on), also stock gamezone.

Oh, and Mantic are releasing zombies at the end of september at about 1/2 the price of GWs.
