I don't play fantasy, and by rights I shouldnt even be on this section of the forum, but I found this on my travels around t'internet and thought it was so ace I should share it with y'all.

I've only d/ld the chaos dwarf list (I had a weenie Cdwarf army, back in the day.) It's pretty dang slick. I have no idea how it would actually play, especially given the changes in 8th ed, but still, I'm dang impressed at the workmanship of the book. If the Araby, Cathay, etc. books are up to the same standard, then yon website could be a great resource for folks who want to play "fun" (i.e. non official tourney) fantasy armies. Ive always quite fancied Araby, meself. Turbans and magic carpets. And genies! Potentially, very sweet indeed...

Those look seriously sweet.
Now to find some models.....
That Nippon book looks fairly good actually. I just had a read through of it today. Light infantry and Light cavalry all round, Samurai cannot flee from charges but can reroll some psychology tests. Katanas give you a +1 to save in melee, but only if you dont have another weapon.
Seems like fun.

There are strong rumours that forgeworld will be handling Chaos Dwarves in future, a new army book and range of models.. should be interesting, if it ever materialises. But no doubt they would be insanely expensive.
For Araby fans, well, there is going to be a magic carpet in 8th as a common magic item.
Forget the exact wording, but you will apparently even be able to stick monstrous infantry like ogres and minotaurs on it, if you are so inclined. Hmm, I think we are going to see some very strange looking stuff on the table. I think it'll be a riot.
Citadel did a great little model back in the day of a turbaned Araby type on a hovering carpet. Wish I still had it.

Well, it is 50 points and the character cannot join units. Basically it just grants the fly rule.

For a Nippon army check out Perry Miniatures. They have an excellent Japanese range. They also great plastics that would proxy very well for Brets if you were so inclined.

At their prices, you could probably do an army for the same price as GW. (all metal samurai). Even I am balking at the idea of buying an army for a totally unofficial army book though.

I bought from perry to pick up some cheaper alternatives to the GW Bret fast cav yeomen, their war of the roses mounted men at arms are excellent sculpts, and worked out much cheaper than the official minis. Recommended to any Bret players out there.

Dogs of War are hideously out of date and by all accounts aren't getting a new book ever.
A samurai giant would be cool, though a lot of work to convert.
