Look what Kuroneko just delivered
One of the benefits of being a gamer in Japan (and there are not many) is that to ensure pre-ordered items arrive on their release date GW sends them off really early. I am now the proud owner of the WFB 8th edition rulebook plus assorted other goodies, a full 2 days before it's general release. How good is that?

Re: Look what Kuroneko just delivered
Its very very good I guess. I've decided to hold off on buying the hardback until I've had a chance to look at the extra content. Since I WILL be buying the boxed set and getting the basic rules, I dont want to fork out a tonne of cash for a huge shelf filler if I dont need to.Mike the Pike wrote:One of the benefits of being a gamer in Japan (and there are not many) is that to ensure pre-ordered items arrive on their release date GW sends them off really early. Order it from an online store. Since it gets released in 2 days you've missed the "order direct from GW and get it a little earlier" option anyway. Get the free shipping or discount from Wayland or Maelstrom.Admiral-Badruck wrote:What was the cost with shipping???

Re: Look what Kuroneko just delivered
I got the gamer's edition with all the extra goodies plus a few other bits and pieces. None of which are particularly 'necessary' but still called out to me to buy them at the first opportunity.
If you are going to get the Boxed set then I actually wouldn't bother with the main rulebook as most of the extras are just fluff and campaign ideas. That said it is a very beautiful book, just in no way practical for regular gaming.
One benefit of the big book not mentioned on the GW site is that it can double as both a shield (effective against small arms ammunition up to 9mm) and a handy melee weapon (If I hit you with it you aren't going to be getting back up again).
