Introduction to the Grand Campaign

Post by Primarch » Mon Jan 31, 2011 12:31 pm

The Grand Campaign.

This year, players are cordially invited to take part in a campaign across the Warhammer World. Players in any location and with any army are welcome to take part.
Simply play a game of Warhammer Fantasy and add your victories to those of other players to guide your faction to victory.

The Rules.
Any official GW warhammer fantasy army can be used (You can even play Warmaster if you want). Games can be played using any scenario at any points value you choose.
Each army belongs to one of 5 factions:
The Forces of Order.
The Empire,
Brettonia,
Dwarves,

The Ancients.
Lizardmen,
High Elves,
Wood Elves,

The Chaotic.
Beasts of Chaos,
Warriors of Chaos,
Daemons of Chaos,

The Wicked.
Dark Elves,
Skaven,
Vampire Counts,

The Forces of Ruin.
Tomb Kings,
Orcs and Goblins,
Ogre Kingdoms,

Each faction begins play with 1 hex on the campaign map. After each victory that faction will claim another empty hex adjacent to another hex they control until all hexes are filled. After the final hex is claimed, each victory will result in a hex being captured from the losing faction.
The faction with the most hexes by the end of the year is the winner.

Players are free to change armies and factions throughout the campaign, but must record victories for the faction they played for each game. For example, a player wins one game with Vampire Counts and wins his next game with High Elves. This would result in 1 hex gained for The Wicked and 1 for The Ancients.
You dont need to keep a record of the forces you use (unless you want to) and you aren't required to use the same army list everytime.

If players play against members of their own faction, they can claim empty hexes (counting the losing side as rebels), but cannot claim hexes belonging to another faction.

As factions gain in power they will unlock a series of magic items, variant units, special characters and more besides. Factions can also gain benefits by capturing specific areas on the map and by achieving certain goals or winning specific scenarios.
If you feel that a unit (yours or your opponent's) has done something noteworthy, please feel free to spread tales of their heroic deeds. The more heroic the better.
e.g. 'My unit of goblins killed a unit of black guard,' doesn't cut it. 'Gonza Hooknose's big mob battled with all their might to overcome the vicious Black Guard led by the fell warrior Hazarkath,' would be better. Likewise tales of 'Deathstar' units murdering everything they encounter need not apply. We want to hear characterful stories about the units that held against all odds and overcame the best the enemy could throw at them. Only these regiments and squads will enter into the annals of history.

There are no requirements to join, just post your victories in the appropriate thread and check your faction specific page for any updates.

Sometime over the summer, there will be a Warhammer Fantasy event where players can win additional benefits for their factions.

Players dont need to be a member of this forum to take part, but if you play a non-member, do the decent thing and post their results to add them to their faction's score.

Thank You and Good Luck!
