From the Games Workshop home page. If Badruck cant figure out when these guys will be released, NO-ONE is to answer his questions.
Incoming: Tomb Kings
An ancient race that has lain dormant for thousands of years, the Tomb Kings now awaken from within their ancient burial pyramids. Cheated from the eternal life that they were promised, the Tomb Kings are instead doomed to an eternal undeath - awakened they thirst for vengeance against those who would disturb their slumber.

At the command of these undying lords march legions of implacable Skeleton Warriors, hosts of chariots crewed by long-dead crewmen and towering statues carved from unyielding stone.

The armies of the Tomb Kings are vast, unstoppable hordes that know neither fear nor remorse - and they shall not rest until all who stand against them are laid low.

This May Warhammer: Tomb Kings is released, containing everything you need to use the legions of Nehekhara in your games of Warhammer.

Alongside the new book we'll also be releases a slew of amazing new miniatures for Tomb Kings players to collect and add to their armies. Details are being kept firmly under wraps for now, but more details will be available over the coming months. To make sure you're the first to see the new models and read the latest news keep your eyes fixed to the pages of White Dwarf, the Games Workshop newsletter and the What's New Today blog.

In the meantime, if you're a Tomb Kings player (or thinking about becoming one) it's time to start building up your Undead hordes in preparation for the new arrivals. So, out with the large drybrush (and the pot of Bleached Bone) and onwards to glory!

And I thought this was going to be a quiet year for mini buying. D'oh! It will be interesting to see what they do with them.Shouldn't need much tinkering to get them in line with the current edition. Some new models here and there wouldn't go amiss though.

So, Dark Elves, Beastmen, Daemons and Dwarves (you still have them right?) aren't enough?
Well, I recommend the Primarch 5 Step Program for Success and Happiness.

Step 1: Look at your existing armies.
Step 2: Consider, do you REALLY need another army?
Step 3: Buy a new army regardless.
Step 4: ????
Step 5: Profit!

So when're they coming out, then?

(I kid!)

Seriously, from all the moaning one hears online (and, of course, there's a lot), this seems like GW have their heads on straight - conventional wisdom is that O&G and TK were two of the weakest armies, right?

So some folks say.

But IMHO OK got a big boost with the way magic now works. That, plus having whole units of thunder-stomping, impact-hitting big guys that fight with lotsa attacks from their second ranks can't be all bad.

TKs are just old and out of date I think. I don't think they particularly got nerfed (perhaps in the magic phase) but they don't have any of the cool toys that other armies do. Mind you. Huge units of cheap troops are always good (-ish) in this edition.

hmmm already have an undead army, so I can't say I'm too excited, but I'd be interested in taking a look at the army book, and then maybe substituting the vampire lord for a tomb king.

And then adding all the units EXCEPT skeleton warriors, because thats about all they have in common.

TK are the one army that I considered in fantasy. The models kinda put me off, but theyd match my desert table nicely (altho the trenches would play merry hell with fantasy units...)

anyway, im not about to run out and buy a bunch of skellies, but I'm keeping a weather eye open to see what kinda new models they come up with.
