All of these are 4000-point forces. The "tournament" list is 3000 points, which is IME pretty analogous to 1500 points in 40K - enough for a fun, balanced, interesting battle, but often not enough to throw in all the toys you have at your disposal.
To start, then, the forces of the Imperium!
First off is Space Marines of the Blood Angels chapter:

Being Marines, it's a relatively small force, and while Marines do have some powerful rules to mitigate this (in addition to being solid all-around troops, with good armor, shooting and assault values, they're very hard to suppress) they need a bit of finesse to use well - in particular, coordinating attacks with their ground troops, assault troops in the thunderhawk, drop troops and an orbital bombardment from the strike cruiser. If Marines come at you piecemeal, they're not too hard to take care of, but they're a real bear in a coordinated assault.
Next, in contrast, is the mechanized infantry of the Steel Legion:

Lots of mans, as you can see, supported by lots of tanks, plenty of artillery and even a couple of Marauder bombers, which pack a punch. Individually, they're pretty poo, but it's hard to argue with the 15-odd dice of shooting one of those infantry companies can put out, and once they get dug in it takes a lot of shooting to break such large infantry formations.
A bit smaller is the Armored Regiment:

...which swaps out a fair chunk of infantry for more tanks and more artillery. A full company of basilisks plus two platoons of manticores puts out some fairly insane barrages (as Mike will testify from the game where he faced them), but the manticores especially will rapidly wilt in the face any shooting whatsoever. Air strikes are a real danger.
Next, Titan Legions:

Yep, 4000 points for 12 models plus air support. It's a bit of a tricky army, as war engines in general sacrifice firepower for sheer survivability - a 900-point Warlord can't put out as much shooting as 900 points worth of infantry formations, but it's protected by 6 banks of void shields, heavy armor and impressive damage capacity. Still, titans aren't invulnerable and will need some coordination to survive. Even a Warlord won't last long against a concentrated effort to take it down.
Finally for the Imperium is the Adeptus Mechanicus Planetary Defense Force:

A couple formations of the heavily-bionicized Hypastist infantry, backed up by forge knights, tanks and artillery, a Warlord and the ICBM-toting Ordinatus Golgotha.
Next post, after I get pictures taken: Foul xenos, Orks and Eldar.
