Heh. I'm lucky there are other reasons, then.Primarch wrote:Assault marines with no jump packs qualify for a free Rhino or Drop Pod, so that is legal. Since chainswords have no in-game effect and pistols count as a weapon for assault anyway, you can get away with two pistols so long as you aren't trying to fire them both at the same time. Sisters of Battle do it and you wouldn't want to disagree with them now would you? Not unless you are some kind of heretic.

SoB assault troops can fire both pistols at the same time (gunslinger)...is that what you meant?Primarch wrote: you can get away with two pistols so long as you aren't trying to fire them both at the same time. So many games, so little time....

I was just referring to the fact that they carry two pistols, not that they can fire both at the same time. Marines armed with two pistols don't get that rule though, so they can't fire two at once.YellowStreak wrote:SoB assault troops can fire both pistols at the same time (gunslinger)...is that what you meant?Primarch wrote: you can get away with two pistols so long as you aren't trying to fire them both at the same time. Re: Project: Advanced Space Crusade
It's irrelevant anyway as I'm forced to fall back on my real reasons for not wanting to expand into 40K, the most important of which being that I don't really want to play said game.
Shooting to finish up the Warriors over the course of the week, then get into the wonderful chunkiness of the Terminators. Just priced some extra clear acrylic bases from Litko, but shipping means I'd be looking at a couple thousand yen for a $5 purchase. I can cover that, but maybe not this month. So Strangers, Chaos Marines and extra Gaunts and Orks will have to wait a bit.
(That'll give me time to ponder liveries for the Chaos Marines. I'm leaning towards Iron Warriors, because that's relatively easy, but gunmetal and gold will be visually pretty similar to the black and yellow of the Scythes.)

I'm actually partial to the card markers from the game - they're just so classically grotesque and colorful and silly and gross, it'd be a shame not to use them.AndrewGPaul wrote:I don't know if you're doing anything about the doors, teleporter cysts and objective markers, but Scotia Grendel do a few useful bits in their 28mm Sci Fi scenery range, originally from Kryomek:

anybody with two pistols can now fire both. Some 3D versions of those would look really cool, though - especially painted in those bright colours. If you can get an anatomical model reasonably cheap, that should give you some useful organs to use.

Heh. I'm imagining trying to talk to someone to place the order. Ok, to summarize and avoid derailing this thread any further.AndrewGPaul wrote:Primarch wrote:

Can models with two pistols fire them both? Yes.
Can assault marines have two bolt pistols? No.
Can ToD model his assault marines with two bolt pistols? Yes.
Can he then fire two bolt pistols? No.
Does Tod intend to play 40K? No, so this whole thing is hypothetical anyway, so please ignore it. Sorry ToD.
And back on topic.
I think I have a couple of the plastic Tyranid terrain bits that come on certain sprues. You can have them if you want, but if you're not doing a full, 3D board, I'd stick to my guns and just continue to use the card tokens. Besides, if you did order stuff from Litko you'd always be wondering what they used for the initial mold.

Nah, the back-and-forth, reasoned and polite as it is, is doing a good job reminding me of my feelings about the game.Primarch wrote:Does Tod intend to play 40K? No, so this whole thing is hypothetical anyway, so please ignore it. Sorry ToD.
AGP, where do you get your acrylic bases from? I'm doing a bit of shopping around to see if I can find anyone with slightly cheaper shipping than Litko - will probably be hard to find, but I figured it's worth a look.
