Looks really good. I do agree that the subdued bases (although intense on detail!) will really keep the focus on your pirates in the end. Remember just 2.5 months left!!!

Bases are always a bit of an afterthought with me, but those look terrific.

If I'm doing a single display mini I quite enjoy basing, but for an army basing drives me nuts. That's why I always do a big batch of bases before I start an army build. It means when I finish a mini it is actually finished - I don't have that feeling of "yay! One more done. Oh dammit I still have to base him" :(

These bases are mostly Secret Weapon bases, btw. Just one skimmer base and the flyer base are my own efforts. I prefer to make my own bases, but I just don't have time these days :(

That's my fault......I was teasing the sissies last summer about flowery bases, and he took me seriously.......

Wow, nice bases! I totally understand, I'm building several armies at once and they are all get the same base treatment. All a labor of live though, keep it up!

OK, so we're done with as many bases as I can realistically do. The small infantry and wraithblade bases are going to have to wait for flowers until the minis are actually glued onto them, because otherwise I suspect the flowers risk getting in the way of where I need to put the feet.

ladies and gentlemen, I give you:

Seriously, now I have that image in my head, I can't unsee it. These bases are tiny circles of disused car park :(

And here's a close up of the flying base. Damn stand went all cloudy under the masking tape, and when I tried to clean it with a light swab of airbrush cleaner, that didnt help none, neither :( Still, the base itself is fairly pleasing, I reckon :)

tomorrow: spray the infantry. maybe...
