2018 project. The English Civil War.

Post by ashmie » Mon Jan 08, 2018 8:44 pm

That's right folks, last year was about painting whatever I felt like on the day. This year rather than faffing around with a zillion different projects, I will mostly be painting Roundheads and Royalists. After that perhaps an Empire army for Warhammer Fantasy Battle and then some more Prussians.

On with the painting. Charge.

Happy New Year 2018. :)

Best of luck. Nothing like a fresh start to the year to get the old painting juices pumping!

Just finishing up the Planet of the Apes for 7TV2.
Not a game I will ever play but hey. It was fun painting them.

Hmm, I will be honest that as an American that grew up in the 90s we spent little time on the English Civil War in our primary and secondary education, but I swear that the war with the apes happened sometime after they built the Statue of Liberty... do I have it all wrong?

It looks like a lot of fun painting. Good luck with the Cavaliers and Roundheads!

So are the apes fighting for royalty or parliament?
Nice work either way.

Not bad for 45 minutes of painting this evening :)
Cromwellian Rabble Rouser 1644
Recruiting at the Slaughtered Lamb Inn, Torrington.

"Be of good courage, and let us play the men for our people, and for the cities of our God: and the Lord do that which seemeth him good."

I'm pleased with the ink shade on the jacket and the brown leather.

@Prim. The apes are definitely Cromwell treacherous allies LOL :)

Nice work. Not every mini needs to be a soldier or a general. Having some background figures on the table lends character to the game. :D
