UK games expo 2019

Post by ashdevon » Sun Jun 09, 2019 4:37 pm

UK games expo had its fair share of controversy this year sadly. Expo had to ban a GM for life for running inappropriate content. I don't understand why people would do that. Luckily Expo responded quickly and efficiently.
It wasn't all grim though. Here's some highlights from my press coverage. I managed to get a press pass and usher some of the live theatre shows.
Knightmare Live was a highlight as was The Dark Room which feature in this playlist.
Hope you enjoy my adventures in expo land. GW area was stunning. Lots of demo games and wonderful staff. They are really making the effort with the fans of the hobby now. I played Steve at Blood bowl he is head of security at Warhammer World. Great bloke. A proper old school American football fan.

Anyway here's the vids

Nearly finished the pile of miniatures from 2013.
Painting mainly historical with some fantasy and Sci-Fi.

Congratulations on getting the press-pass, do you prefer the term Roving Reporter or Freelance Correspondent? I haven't had time to watch your uploads yet, but I'll go through them when I get home after work. It sounds like a fun event though.
Hopefully we'll be seeing more such reports on the type of gaming events we here in Japan can only dream of attending.

Edit
That live Knightmare event looks awesome. The trade stands look like a dangerous place to visit though. :D

Mate I was so tired! I was in hospital this week with chest and arm pains. Luckily heart is OK but they said it was stress. Been burning the candle at both ends this year. I was toying with the idea of going to Essen as I reckon that would be less stress. Just looking at the website, it shines with German organisation. Front page is all about where the toliets and towels are before there is any mention of games. :) It looks really well organised. We shall see. I'm going to save some money to visit my boy. It's been 3 years exactly this month! It was worth coming home to get my mental health back up to speed. Just need to remember I'm 40 soon and not to hit burn out. Did some painting today which helped a lot with relaxing. :)

Glad all things Nagoyahammer are still going strong. I'll have a proper look around later. Keen to see how the Rorkes Drift game went.

#Looks at file full of pictures that haven't been uploaded yet#
Um...
I'll try and get some pictures posted up sometime this week.

If you're planning on heading back this way, let us know and we can organize some drinks or something.
I recommend FinnAir for the flights, reasonably priced, decent service and they fly into Nagoya.

Defintley will try and tie it in with a games event. The best plan is probably to take an extended holiday and then apply for jobs when I'm over. Ah how I miss ramen and gyoza shops :)
