Legio VI

Post by Primarch » Tue Dec 07, 2010 10:25 am

Following on from Justin's inspired (ie stolen from every other gaming forum) idea I have decided to set up a blog myself for my ongoing war of attrition with getting my Space Wolves built and painted.
Since this is the first post I figured I would share some of my newly built (not even a base coat yet) models that I put together recently.

First of all two Wolf Scouts
Image
I already have 5 scouts, but two of them are lacking any wolfy bits at all so I decided to build a couple using the custom Wolf Scout parts that come in the new set.

Next up is a Blood Claw, a Grey Hunter and a Wolf Guard.
Image
Sadly the pose on the Wolf Guard isnt great. The way they have the Lightning Claw posed isnt so great, and the guy's beard just kept getting in the way.

Next up is a Wolf Lord.
Presenting Durfast Spiritwolf, Hero of the First Maelstrom Crusade and Defender of The Fang

I built this guy after reading Tempus Fugitives latest campaign pack, 'Into the Maelstrom'. (You can find the pack here

To run down his stats.

And The Shall Know No Fear

Counter Attack
Infiltrate (applies to a unit of non-Terminator Wolf Guard he leads)
Saga of the Hunter (Grants Infiltrate and the saga rule states that to play it fluffy he must begin the game in reserve, saga rules are great like that).

Those are some really nice pictures man and you were 100% right they do not look anything like Ultramarines... Are you going to do them in standard SW colors or are you going to do anything fancy with them?

As Space Wolves have no successors, they'll be in standard Space Wolf colours, just like the rest of my Space Wolves.

Interesting that you would use the legio name instead of the chapter name. Is is going to be a 30k compatible army as well?
It's easy to die in the swamp. What's hard is to staying dead.

Thats going to be the goal. Actually, it is one of the easiest armies to switch over since they never really changed. They just need some Saemunder Rhinos building and a couple of special characters.

The Wolf Sprue contains EVERY weapon you can give to any of the power armoured marines in the dex with the sole exception of flamers and meltas (though plasma is there). There are something like 25+ heads on the sprue (5 for scouts the rest for marines). It is truly a marvelous kit.

Well, I got up early today and got some more work done. I finished a Wolf Scout that I had base coated some time ago.

The icon on his left shoulder is Ragnar Blackmane's Great Company, done freehand. I'm not very good at painting freehand designs so I used a Gundam Marker Pen designed for the job. The icon on his right shoulder denotes which Scout Pack he belongs to.
