The flesh is weak, bones can be pretty strong if you drink enough milk I guess.

How about:
The bone white armour represents the death of the flesh, or the old Imperium. The gunmetal is the replacement of said flesh with undying iron and the new Imperium.

I like the colours. Bone: Represents mankind, those we represent and fight for; Metal: For our Primach and representing our strength

With Iron hands lineage and a hammer in the logo (and I'm wondering if just a hammer without the Nagoya logo would be better?), perhaps a hammer-related name?
Iron Hammers
Hammersmiths
Ironbreakers
Doomhammers
Malleus Manus
Hammertime!

...this is making me wonder, can Primarus wield thunderhammers?
So many games, so little time....

Not yet, but TBH it's most likely only a question of time.

Indeed.
I'd just like to say that I didn't ignore YS and Jus's suggestions, but because they put forward several each, none of them were chosen.
M_i_J put forward 1 clear choice.

Now, what makes this chapter worthy of our attention? Where are they from? What do they do best? Their senior leaders are all waking up after a 10,000 year nap, how do they feel?

I'll do some thinking about chapter background, but while I do, could I humbly suggest the hammer in the chapter logo have the hammerhead at the top of the logo, please? It just looks upside down to me. Also, If the head's at the top, it kinda looks like the /\ lines are whoosh lines, like its mjolnir or something. Speaking of mjolnir....hmmmn.... I may be onto something here ......

I was going to say something similar! Although whoosh lines coming down off a hammer starts to look a bit like the Stormcast symbology, but what're you going to do?

I guess the question is: does a primaris chapter using Iron Hands geneseed necessarily draw heavily on Iron Hands culture as such? My impression from Horus-Heresy-through-osmosis is that most of the cultural stuff (in our case, organization by clans and general barbarism) was often imposed by the primarch upon sometimes disparate groups of warriors sharing his geneseed based on wherever he managed to end up, rather than something "hard coded" - if the Astral Hammers represent such a group of warriors that never really got much from Ferrus Manus besides his genetic fingerprint, we'd have more freedom with background and organization and so on.

(After poking around a bit) Heck we could even say the chapter feels more kinship with the original X Legion Storm Walkers than the modern Iron Hands - especially since the X Legion's "Hammer and Storm" tactics tie in nicely with our chapter name.

Edit: Ooh! Ooh! Here's a nice quote from Ferrus Manus himself that could also be a nice justification for the chapter colors:

"Hatred of what is natural, of what is human, is the first and greatest of the corruptions. So I record it here: when the time comes, I will strip my hands of their unnatural silver. I will instruct my Legion to recant their distrust of the flesh. I will turn them away from the gifts of the machine and bid them relearn the mysteries of flesh, bone and blood."

So the Astral Hammers are looking to bridge the gap between the Iron Hands' unhealthy fascination with the machine and their primarch's desire to remain in touch with flesh and bone - metal to respect the primarch, bone to remind the chapter of their humanity.
