I like the Ulvs. Not just giant wolves, but a really alien, exotic creature, with a single glowing red eye no less!
An observation for modeling purposes, if a respectable one is the size of a bear, or bigger, that's got to be a pretty big skull. Your Grim Wolf vets are going to be so loaded down with skulls that they can't move. Maybe write it like they keep a tooth or claw as a token and the skull goes into the Chapter's vault of relics or something.

...and now his Head was full of nothing but Inchantments, Quarrels, Battles, Challenges, Wounds, Complaints, Amours, and abundance of Stuff and Impossibilities.....

Thanks for your comment, I was afraid I wouldn't get any.
You have a point there, I need to think of a better chapter symbol anyway because wolf skulls are not as easy to get your hands on as I first thought. I am thinking of painting a single glowing red eye on the shoulderpad instead as chapter symbol.

You could just paint a skull on in black and do the eye in red.Seb wrote:Thanks for your comment, I was afraid I wouldn't get any.

Besides, glowing red eyes are copyright these guys:

I see, they use an eye that is red too.
Well I tried to freehand a wolf skull on my latest model but stopped in some hours after a lot of swearing and frustration. I just bought a micro pen and I will try to draw a wolf skull with that. If it doesnt work I will have to think of something else.

Use the micro-pen to draw the outline and then fill in the details with paint.
I'm not much of a perfectionist, so I am generally content if my free-hand looks ok from a couple of feet away since that is the usual distance most people will be seeing my models.

Re: Warhammer 40,000 - Grim Wolves Chapter (General Informat
freehanding a decent looking wolf skull didn't work out for me.
So the chapter symbol will be glowing red wolf eye and fangs on a black background.

The grim wolves chapter is really getting fleshed out now. Its great to see! I'm with konrad on the Ulvs, I would be really cool if they could tame them, use them as warbeasts...If you can model one to the dimensions of a rhino chassi and stick a big gun on it, you could use it as a predator tank/demolisher. That would be awesome.
