An army-building template for the new Eldar is up on Quarter Master for those who use it.
Just spent the afternoon seeing how many shiny new toys I can cram onto the table top. :D

Is it just me or are Eldar point costs still outrageous...

A lot of things did in fact go up in point cost, and a few decreased, mainly Jet Bikes (GW probably has a lot in the Warehouse ;) ).

They gave the whole army the WS and BS 4 and the battle focus, run shoot or shoot run, so I guess they figured a point drop was not valid. Also in order to sell the new Wraithguard and Wraithknight sets, I wager they would not want the points to drop too much on the existing minis. If you are going to have a small elite army, you can have these expensive aspect warriors with T3, or your can have these T6 killer robots with the option of being troops with our new lower cost Spirit Seer :D

The Eldar are still the small elite army, but only time will tell if its new tricks are good enough to pull rabbits and games out of the hat. ;)

Small tidbit. Codex Iyanden has extra "magic items" and an alternate army list that allows Wraithknights to be used as warlords. Imagine now playing at 500 pts putting on the table a Wraithknight for 300pts and 2 squads of shuricannon guardians for the other 200

Overall point costs went down considerably if you factor in the fact that they come with all the upgrades that they HAD to buy before to make them worth taking at all, and all the extra bonuses such as battle focus, fleet for heavy aspect armor wearers (except dark reapers who get slow and purposeful)

Im quite pleased with the way things are looking, but it will be a little while fore i can try it out. Will need a few models first.....

Ok Ikeda san...
